Amazing content Mr. GK. If i can recap the differences. 1. Better rocket (more thrust and speed) and more efficient with smaller size. 2. Better space suit (old ones were more damaged) to handle very high and low temperature. 3. Better lander/capsule which can take 6 people instead of 3 4. Better safety while coming back (withstanding high temperatures). 5. Better computer system (old ones were of rope tech). 6. Different landing area (earlier it was near the equator now it is Southern pole).
During 2018 IIT Madras conference i had the opportunity to talk to Michel Meyers, who was heading Mars Program in NASA. I asked the same question why they were not able to send man to moon after 50 years. He told moon was not worth pursuing anymore. Students were not able to get convince with the answer and he skipped my question later. Since then i got huge doubts on moon landing. Considering the recent trouble NASA is even facing in 2024 technical shortcomes while rescuing Sunita williams from even space, my doubt grows. Not to forget, NASA told that it lost all the 14000 tapes of telemetry data about moon landing when enquired. I am an engineer and i agree with the documents and proofs. Still to my conscience it’s counterintuitive to believe that we landed in moon 50 years back, considering the huge political pressure played a role in the Apollo missions where the pride of country was at stake.
