I had a flowmaster with a super 40 muffler on it and had to swap it out for a super 50 because it was way to loud for remote starts at 430am. The system was ok but the quality was not what I was expecting, the muffler rusted badly and the pipes were starting to go as well. My stock exhaust was sitting behind my garage for 3 years not being used and NO RUST! If I had to do it all over again I think I would keep the stock pipes and just add a different muffler.
I went that route on my 2003 F 250 , went with a pretty mild Magnaflow . I can’t recall which one but it was close to stock in size. Everyone thought it sounded great ! I was very happy with it. I don’t care about dual exhaust or even dual tips. I sure don’t want it to exit in front of a rear tire .
