When I was a kid we were poor and I had never seen real Swiss cheese, only on Tom & Jerry. I asked my dad why we didn't eat Swiss cheese. He told me that Velveeta was made from the parts of the Swiss cheese where the holes had been, so it was just as good.
I love this comment. And as a creator of at least a dozen different styles of cheese cakes, sweetness doesn’t mean kill the teeth and call the dentist. She (Emmy) literally said it was the sweetness of yogurt. Sometimes I want candy sweet, other times I want lightly sweet. But in this case 6 year old me wants cheese cake sliced straight from the moon!!!
That's one of the reasons why Emmy is on the road to be the first RU-vid channel with one BILLION subs. You can say "I knew her when she only had 2 million subscribers"
That cheesecake unmolding from its pan was soooooo satisfying to watch. 😍 Also, if you wanted to go completely bonkers and go down the molecular gastronomy rabbit hole, I'm imagining maybe some kind of edible dissolving balloon full of air, done in varying small sizes, that could be poked down into the cheesecake batter before it goes into the fridge. They might hold open long enough to create the spherical holes inside the cake while it chills, but soften enough to not be perceptible once it's ready to be eaten. Hmm… maybe I need a kitchen lab coat like Emmy's! 😂
I was originally thinking along the same lines, but I just now thought of maybe using ice cubes, not quite sure how to drain the water out before serving without poking the cheese cake full of holes :P I wonder if their are flavorless yeasts out there, because that would be another interesting option. I really should have taken some science classes in college :/
I was thinking she could use cold circular pieces of coconut oil, then make a baked cheesecake and it would melt the fat in the cooking process. Unfortunately, I'm afraid the spheres would also collapse under the weight of the cheesecake before serving 😩
all of these options are likely going to change the flavor or texture of the cake. The way she did it is probably the only way to make the holes without having pools of oil or mooshy cake around where the ice was. If you wanted the holes on the inside of slices it would probably be best to cut the whole cake and add the holes- I think the whole cake is more visually appealing than worrying about putting holes inside. A chocolate or marzipan mouse to put on each slice would be adorable.
I'm not a japanese speaker, but I think this is just an expression and in anime it's normally translated with something like "Thanks for this meal" or "Let's eat" and it could probably be compared with "bon appétit".
@@FloL00L they were referring to the closed caption system always "translating" it to some strange and different phrases, and not what it really means, as most of us who watch Emmy already know
Fun fact: In switzerland, cheesecake is actually savoury, made with hard cheese, not cream cheese. Imagine my grandfather's disappointment when he ordered cheesecake at a restaurant abroad 😅
Yesn't? You mean Käsekuchen which means cheesecake, but we also have the American kind of sweet cheesecake in Switzerland, it just has the English name. Like the Rob&Lissy cheesecakes from Coop (which are the best ones you can buy in a supermarket here). Even McDonald's has the sweet cheesecake. So we have both, savory (Käsekuchen) and the typical sweet one (cheesecake).
When I have a not so good day and RU-vid's main page pops up an Emmy's video, it feels as if the universe sends me a pick-me-up. Love watching your videos and they always make me happier.
“Greetings my beautiful lovelies, it’s Emmy and welcome back” … to the most wholesome cooking channel on RU-vid! Thank you for making all this awesomely great videos!
I use to watch your videos from day one when you use to do the Japanese kits like the ramen etc.. watching you now brings back so much memories. You’re amazing EMMY!
I'd like to see and try something like this but with a stronger flavour, almost making people doubt if it's a dessert or not. Something strong like what in Mexico we call Manchego cheese, it's soft, creamy and very tasty,.
You are honestly sooooo sweet. I don’t understand how this is “hilarious”, but you’re so cute that my black, icy heart melted just a little bit because of your excitement over this cheese-cake.
@@kelsey2333 the cafe silly. They had like a little shop with coffee and snacks inside. Actually i used to go to the barns and noble across from my job all the time just to use their starbucks and get coffee
Hello Emmy! I just want to say thank you. I've been watching your videos for a while, but today I had a little accident in my car with my husband (not our fault!). It was very scary and we were shaken but luckily no-one was hurt. When we got home the first thing we did was put a couple of your videos on and we both calmed down and felt better. Thank you for taking your time to share your stories with us, you never know how much it helps us! Xxxx
My friend's mom told me how when she was little she liked macaroni with just milk, so her mother would set some aside for her when she made mac and cheese. One night she had her bowl and saw little red bugs in it. She told her mother there was bugs in it, and her mom said there was not. Her dad leaned over and a quietly said that they were the factory workers that tunneled through the noodles to make them hollow. So she went ahead and ate it. She asked her mom for a second bowl. Her mom got up to get it, finally saw the bugs and shrieked. Told her she couldn't eat it because it had bugs in it. This woman was telling me this story when she was in her '60s and was still puzzled about why she couldn't have a second bowl. She said "I don't know what the big deal was, I'd already eaten a bowl with bugs in it, what was another one going to hurt?"
I love cheesecake especially no bake and the recipe I use is very similar to this one. If you where to use a crumb crust and a bit of fruit it would bring up the sweetness.
Thank you Emmy... I just watched the condensed milk 2 ingr Truffle and I have to say... I LOVE Your singing and humming lil sounds ... it sounds like a Cartoon x0x0x
So fun! I wanted to tell you that my 2 yr old watches a video of yours every night before bed. She says, "Emmys gonna cook!" you're very soothing. Thank you for making bedtime easier!
OMG OMG!! YOU had me at Tom & Jerry. I need to make this for my birthday! I collect all old school cartoon original cell drawings, and original artwork from Joseph Barbera, and Chuck Jones. I just started following you last week, and I absolutely love your content! Sending love from Dallas, Texas. 💞💞💞💞✌💞💞💞💞
Looked like you did a great job of making it cartoon-like (thank you for putting the pics at the beginning & at the end, because it was tough to see the holes with the filming lights on the cheesecake). I'm guessing that because the texture was so smooth it was reflecting the light. Nice job though!
Love all your videos Emmy! I have been watching them more working at home every day. I just saw a video by another food vlogger for Burnt Cheesecake, you should do that one!
Watching you cook is so delightful! Your joy is infectious 😋 The cheesecake looks so fun and mighty delicious too! I'm going to have to try to make it myself and add a little extra sugar ✌️+❤️
You could use liquid stevia glycerate, probably wouldn't notice because its mixed with sugar. I often use it to up the sweetness without increasing the sugar.
Has this woman ever said anything that wasn't positive or wholesome? She comes off as such a good person, I honestly couldn't even picture her uttering a cuss word or something. I really enjoy your videos, Emmy. I've made several of your recipes because they're perfect for simpletons like me that can't cook worth a damned. Plus your MRE reviews are great.
