Pretty easy job I just did this one myself. The biggest problem I had was neither of the two gaskets I had matched the pump perfectly, and also the pulley bolts are hard to get tight because even with the belt installed the pulley turns easily while tightening. Other than that the old gasket was a pain to remove, I used a green scotch bright pad. The job was made much easier with a spill free funnel and also the bleeder valve on the water pump housing makes the radiator fill up much better on the initial fill. Of course you need to use the bleeder valve on the thermostat housing to bleed the air out of the system.
I saw you removed the gasket that was on the rim. Was there another one that needed to be removed? Also, what did you put around the new water pump (the dark grey stuff from the tube)? Is this serving as the new gasket? Thanks!
