I’m participating as a vendor for hippie fest this year and was looking for something exactly like this! Thank you for making such a great tutorial that’s super easy to understand 😊
That sounds SO fun!! I’m really happy you found my tutorial, and these will work well for you, yay! Once you’ve made a couple, you’ll be whipping them out! I’ve been making more myself this week, getting ready for farmers market season. 🙌
I see this tutorial was posted 2 years ago but I still have to comment on how amazing it is. Your work is so detailed and meticulous and you explain everything so wonderfully. I've been crocheting for a few years now, just started making bracelets, and already want to add beads. I'm SO glad I came across this tutorial; it is the best! Will definitely be making this bracelet as soon as I get some beads and the beading needle. Thank you SO much for this tutorial!
I’m also thrilled to know you’ve been wanting to add beads to projects. I have a scarf tutorial where I added beads along the bottom edges. Here’s the link if you’d like to check it out. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pnj3UHkUvVg.html
Nice trick using the pliers to hold the needle when pulling the beads down onto your yarn or cord. Wish I'd known that when I was making that skull bracelet. I learned quite a bit from watching this video.
I'm so glad my video is helpful! When you'd told me about your needles breaking, I thought; since I also had trouble gripping the needle tight enough to go through the thicker yarn, well then, this solves two problems!
These bracelets are just beautiful! I learned a lot from your critiques of the different yarns in this video. The metallic yarns work up into marvelous bracelets!😊
Oh thank you, Gale! I’m glad it wasn’t too long for you and that the info was helpful. Love those metallic yarns! I recently went through my stash and found a DK cotton blend with metallic, by Cascade Yarns that I think will also be perfect for these bracelets! I need to make a few more for the upcoming market, and when I do, I’ll post a video. 😃
Love button closures, have some vintage glass. And some metal shank buttons too....plus have some thread and steel hooks if I really want to shrink down🎉😂❤ taught beading at my friend's bead store for 3/4 years, so enjoyed helping people to learn off loom bead weaving.😊😊🎉
I love buttons and vintage too! I recently picked up some Czech glass buttons at a vintage, secondhand shop that I’ll use for a crochet project. Stunning! Even just to display and look at! So wonderful you taught beading! 👏
Helene, these are so pretty, and what a great idea. In fact I can see them becoming a must have with every crochet or knit scarf. LOL! When I get caught up, and everything is up and running, I will watch your tutorial again and give it a try. I have a lot of beads and yarns to go ahead and get started. Thanks my friend for share more of your awesome talent. Smiles from J.
Hello my friend! I'm so happy you like them! I thought of you, with all your beading supplies and am so excited that you'll give it a try. Please let me know how they turn out and what you use. As long as the bead goes through the yarn, you're good to go! p.s. I got your email & will write back soon. :)
Hi..this was my 1st year for tutorials and became an overly long one. I’ve gotten much better at it and may do a redux version sometime. Until then, can always fast forward to where the tutorial begins.💗
Love your bracelets! I also love how precise you are ( that's how I am too!) Some patterns I have watched tutorials on are cute but in reality don't look that great. I am going to try to do a bracelet since I have so many beads but may not have the right yarn though I have so much yarn. Thanks again!
Hi Cindy and thank you so much!! I've very excited to hear that!! I think just about any #3 or worsted DK weight should work. Lots of flexibility, as long as the beads slide through! I'd love to know how it turns out! I need to get my instagram account going; so pics can be posted. I'm also glad to know you like my details, as I sometimes wonder if it's too much!
@@cabinfevercrochet I had a bracelet that I made from #10 crochet cotton using a very small hook 2.25mm and beads that fit. I didn't like the way it finished so I took it apart! It was a pattern a sort of made up based on a Jayda InStitches pattern for an anklet. I hated to take it apart but it just wasn't going to make it the way it was, lol.
Hi Cindy! Wonderful, you found me, and so happy you’re enjoying the pattern! Google, Child’s or Children’s Bracelet Size Chart; and a few sites with measurements, for various age ranges, will pop up. 😃
Hi Kathy and thank you! I make in a variety of lengths, using 7 to 7 1/4" (not incl. the button & loop closure) as an average size. They're stretchy and tend to fit most; but I suggest making some smaller to fit tiny wrists, such as yourself. I'm thrilled you want to make some to sell and hope they do really well for you! The only thing I ask is to give credit back to me, the designer, via my RU-vid channel. Also, if you're curious, I sell mine for $18 ea., using a good quality yarn and the nice glass Czech or Japanese beads, as mentioned. 💗😃💗
I mostly used a #3 weight, with a G / 4.0mm hook. The Lion Brand 24/7 Mercerized Cotton, is listed as a #4; but thinner, due to its construction. I do have to push the beads on somewhat, as they don't slide as well; but it still works! 💖
Hello, and thanks so much for watching! I have thought about writing up a pattern for it; but that’s as far as I’ve gotten, to date! I will add that to my list of goals for this year. I appreciate you asking, and for the inspiration to get it done! 💗
What a fun idea! 😃 I don't see why not. If you use a really strong fiber to hold its shape, you could probably put on different type of clasp, to hang an I.D. or other tags. Can always give it try and see how it works out. If you make one, I'd LOVE to see a photo with your doggie modeling it! My email: cabinfeverc@gmail.com 💖
Please tell me the size of beads and the brand and color . I crochet a lot I just need a little more detail. I am blind in one eye and have had several strokes. Thank you for going so slow an smooth with the bracelet construction. Jackie
Hi. So glad you enjoyed the tutorial! The beads are Toho 3/0 Glass Seed Beads (Japanese, precision cut.) I’ve listed links in the drop-down description section. Here’s the link to Artbeads, where I buy mine. Not as much selection as they used to carry. They do have great sales all the time, low free shipping minimum. artbeads.com/search-results/ 😃
Can't find the 3/0 beads have found the 6/0 beads what are these #'s in reference to so I can use something else or find something that will work.... I checked your site that you gave to someone else but they were out of the ones that I would have wanted can you give some more yarn choices?
@@paulamaslow4298 The 3/0 is the size of bead, which also has a larger hole size. Unfortunately artbeads.com doesn't carry the selection they had even a year ago. GREAT new thought! I did a search and just found a site new to me. Garden of Beadin', with 24 beautiful colors of the 3/0, in stock!! Woo-hoo! Here's the link, which is under, Japanese 3/0 Seed Beads: www.gardenofbeadin.com/catalog/3-0-japanese-seed-beads/ If needed, you can certainly go down a yarn size, to #2 fine weight, or possibly #3 light, to fit the 6/0. But your bracelet will also be smaller. Premier Yarns has their Afternoon Cotton, a #3 light, Egyptian Mercerized.
I just found another site, new to me, with a wonderful selection of the 3/0 Japanese Seed Beads. Here's the link! www.gardenofbeadin.com/catalog/3-0-japanese-seed-beads/
I'm so glad you're still working on it. When I have more time, I will really try to re-do this tutorial. It will be a shorter tutorial, more close up and slower.
How do you like the Furls hooks? I've thought about saving for some, but I mostly use steel hooks. I'm not sure if it's worth spending the money. Thanks for the tutorial! I wondered why yours are wider than usual.
I’ve tried four different types of Furls & the Odyssey are by far my favorite of Furls & of all hooks I’ve ever used! I plan to do a review & comparison sometime this year. Since you like metal hooks, you may love the Odyssey also. To me they are so worth it, with the reduced hand fatigue, fantastic stitch definition and how nicely the yarn glides…after I got used to the weight difference & shape. Hope that helps!
Hi. It’s a very thin, flexible, large eye needle. Comes in various length options, and usually a package of several; since they can bend out of shape after awhile. Inexpensive, and found at craft stores, and online (Amazon). I have some by Beadsmith, and Hobby Lobby’s brand, from their beading section. 💗
Hi. They were t $18, the last few years; but with rising cost of materials, and vendor fees, I may go up to $20 or $22. It's all relative to your area's economy, and customer base. I have a couple of videos on that, if you haven't already seem them. Hi! I got them from Fire Mountain Gems, at least 15 years ago and still going strong! I just googled, and they still carry them, plus quite a few other places, too. They’re made in Germany, by Lindstrom. The most awesome jewelry tools I’ve ever used; but quite pricey. These are $55 now; but so worth it if you do a lot of jewelry making. They’re spring-loaded, with adjustable tension, and really takes pressure & stress off your hand/fingers/joints; and allows for a lot more control over what you’re doing. Great for getting into tiny spaces and making metal flush with your work. I also have a pair of small round nose pliers, perfect for making loops. If you like good tools like I do, you’ll drool when you see all the different types and styles they have!! 😅 You can get replacement springs also. Have fun and thank you for watching! 💗
p.s. I’m pretty sure this is the pair I have. Item # H20-4706TL, on www.firemountaingems.com. The RX series needle-nose, 6 1/4 inches. Lends for precision work and a clean finish. Item H20-3147TL are the round nose 5-3/4 inch pliers I have, @ $61.95. 😅
Hello! I charge $18. Here’s the link to my recent video, with more info on the topic of pricing. I mention the bracelet, as one of my examples. 😉🔆 PRICING & SELLING TIPS for Handmade Items!! 🔆 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LoNMu1Yh-M4.html
Is your button too close to the edge of your bracelet? Or is your button closure loop too small or too big? If too big, be sure to slip stitch to the base of your bracelet to keep it secure. You can go down a hook size if needed; so the loop stays tight or you can use a bigger button. Or add an extra chain to the loop if it's too tight.
@@maddyfogarty6175 I used a #3 weight and a light #4 (Lion Brand 24/7). A smooth, Mercerized Cotton fiber works best and lasts the longest. Strong and holds its shape. 😉
Hi Maddy and thanks so much for watching! Hook size, 4.0mm (US G-hook) That is what I used on all of my bracelets, with all types of yarn shown, in a #3 (or DK) weight or light #4 (Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton). Yarn that is smooth and will not fuzz or fray. Mercerized Cotton is best. Hope that helps! 💕 Helene
@@maddyfogarty6175 Good Morning. Are you asking where I got the yarn? I'm not sure what you mean, the number for 3 and 4 weight yarn. Any smooth yarn in either weight will work. As long as your beads fit through it. You can find the Lion Brand 24/7 online. Direct from their website www.lionbrand.com, Amazon, www.joann.com. I also like Omega Yarns Sinfonia (another good mercerized cotton). Hobby Lobby has some, also at www.anniescatalog.com and other online stores.
@@lynng3421 You're very welcome and I thank you for watching!! Any #3 weight (not fuzz, low pill) should work; but I like mercerized cotton the best, for resiliency, strength and recovery. (Doesn't stretch out much.) Also, no pilling, wears really well and has a nice, slight sheen. I used it a lot for my summer baseball cap hats. 😃
Prova un filato più sottile? È possibile regolare la dimensione della lunghezza in base alle dimensioni. Difficile saperlo senza vederlo. Se ce l'hai fatta e troppo grande. Ho usato traduttore online! Spero che abbia senso! Grazie per la visione. 💗
