Yeh me too. As part of the agreement with revopoint for the scanner I didn't get to compare it to competing products. I will do it at some point though.
oooh, I had an idea. Have you tried photogrammetry with just a digital camera and software for miniatures? I've heard about a few options but I've never tried it yet
@@xyonblade I haven't tried that yet just using the phone a while ago. Was thinking of doing that and also using the AI generators that are about at the minute as well.
I know this is going to sound like a copout but it depends entirely on your need for it. If you have a specific job that requires it then it's worth it. For miniatures I think it does ok. Larger models and terrain I think it's great at but small stuff not so much.
@@tabletopscanman The main thing I'm interested in scanning are miniatures. About the standard 28-32mm scale sized miniatures. I've had some good luck scanning tanks and other larger things when they're still smaller unassembled parts.
@@xyonbladeif I'm honest at this price level you will get better results from something photogrammetry based. Especially if you're willing to compromise on timescales to achieve greater results. If you look at my shorts you should be able to see for yourself. P.s. for what it's worth I can't see this particular scanner being any different to the creality otter either but I've not played with that one personally...yet.
@@nicamarvin yes the mini 1 has higher FPS. I asked why and was told it's because the mini 2s depth cameras have more to process. Doesn't agree with the spec sheets though. Glad you noticed.
