Very good MrB. You helped me through my first two years and I have made a couple of these mistakes. For those reading this, being in the hallways and lunch duty is a good thing. Be present the best you can; I am an introvert by the way. You are not a mental health counselor and closer to an administrator who is a double agent. :) Lastly, if you send out a survey to gauge your effectiveness, take results with a grain of salt and don't take it personally (you probably will). I’m not a first year counselor but definitely got some ideas for goals for next year. I am close with my counseling team but want to continue to work on building relationships with other adults on campus as well!
