It is absolutely insane to see someone speedrunning this game. That game entertained me for YEARS as a kid, and as I played it again some months ago as an adult, I finished everything to do in the game in like 3 days. Kinda hard to believe how much time i spent with it back then. Still a gem tho and definitely the game of my childhood
its the same for any game from your childhood. we process content much faster, spend less time trying out new stuff and find less interest in going after simple questions (what will happen if i do this.... etc)
Wow, this was so easy for you to play this game! I didn't pass through Greenford fort battle, I remember how hard it was to kill this fort. I read a bunch of hints on forums on how to complete this task, I remember installing 12pd culevrines, i believe, on my battleship for those seemed to be the most long-range shooting guns in game. But still the fort was able to hit me hard and I did almost no damage to it. Oh, I remember how much effort I put in it and how angry I was for getting no result. And seeing you killing this fort less than a minute was sooo funny. It's a cheaty tactics, but man, I wish I knew it when I was playing this game.
I think you suffer a lot of slowmotion because you played this at 60fps or more. This creates a lot of troubles with vanilla POTC... I saw a lot of things I didn't know I could do in my runs. Excelent video !!
Oh just noticed that you got out of jail @ 24mins. The gunner didn't let me out at leadership lvl1. Are there more than that part in which you save time because of leadership skill?
In this run it's the only part that saves time I think. But high leadership allows you to persuade/intimidate characters during quest dialogs for better outcome.
My run was on modified version of the game. So you are still only who ran this game on default version :) Looking forward to contact you about running this game in different categories and stuff.
Old video I know, but I tried reinstalling this game on my PC and it has some pretty big issues. I do have an original Xbox and very tempted to play it on that. I'm wondering though, isn't there a fast-time option? Or does that go against speed-running rules?
@@majs3n440 Bandicam also works btw. might be an alternative for folks who already have that program. the inventory is impossible to navigate without an fps limiter.
Ignore the fact that you are doing things the way you do because this is a speed run, this comment has nothing to do with that. Me personally no matter how good I am at this game I always do the tutorial at the begining. The reason is because if you don't do the tutorial Malcom isn't lingering around in Oxbay. In one of the main quest missions the French guards at Oxbay are chaising you and if he is in Oxbay he will slaughter over half of them making that part easier, and he is an immortal NPC so he just stays there no matter how many times they respawn and attack him again.
I remember that mission but I think the intended approach was when you're busted you run straight to the ship. Its fun to have Malcolm there but he's not really a time saver.
There is a mission where you have to give a lady back, and the dude increasingly gives more money foe the lady, if you deny it twice and then accept the game bugs out and gives a couple million gold lol. Not sure if it is only on xbox. Its usually my way to get 4 of the highest tier ships within a short time.
Hi, do you know a way i can still play this game on modern PC's ? I have an original copy of the game, (not cracked) and when install the game on my Windows 10 laptop it crashes when i launch it. In order to be able to run it i have to delete the water texture. But when i enter my ship to go to sea it crashes because there's no water to sail on.
Download the New Horizons mod and copy it’s exe and replace the POTC one with that. Then run the game. It crashes normally because of the games CD copy protection. The software doesn’t work with Windows 10 so you technically have to crack the exe to get it boot up. The New Horizons mod .exe is the easiest way to get it running.
@@ULTRAWIDE. Have tried it, no luck. It would only work if i removed the water texture but then when i board the ship the game crashes because there’s no water
You could also make an image of your CD with Daemon Tools. After that launch the game with the virtual CD mounted. Daemon Tools rips off the no CD protection.
There are 5 games lol. 6 if you count the most recent one, Caribbean Legend, which is just a remaster of the 5th with new content. The best part is that it continues the story of the PotC game.
I remember something like that happening to me too some 13 years ago. I think the solution was to take the portal down again, fight the mummies, assign Danielle to the top right crew position, then go back to the statue. This game is full of strange bugs
how your game not crashed. There is no wtaer for me when im on land, and when i want to go to the sea. The mini map work, but battle and everything on the sea crash help me please thank you and gg
@@thesuperskull don't get me wrong, I love this game, I completed it more than 10 times, I just think it's amusing someone thought about speedrunning it
