Before I bought a proper psu I had a lot of wall warts. Easy and cheap way to power projects.

Sometimes when I buy a piece of portable test gear and the power adapter is offered as a pricey accessory, I've use this method by saving some money. Dig into the my junk box of power adapters and a bit of modification and you've got the adapter you need for cheap. 👍

You can place an AM radio near a switcher and you can hear the electrical interference a switcher causes on the radio
