I’ve also heard of using a Sierra front bumper because they’re already lower in the middle and they fit the HD grill perfect without cutting or welding

I want to do the HD conversion on mine but they want a small fortune for the taller HD hood. I'll keep my eyes open at the local pull a part until I find what I need.
Not the way I did it. I think you would need to cut off the whole bracket from the frame and move it down for that to work. Or put a spacer to drop the tow hooks
Actually right now they aren’t attached. I have the other 4 pretty tight and the bumper is actually snug to the fenders. It wouldn’t be hard to just put a flat bracket between the 2 wholes and use 2 bolts. Probably after I paint it I’ll do that but I been driving it every day with no issues.

I looks good ! But not sure why they call it HD if you cut away a lot metal. I’m going to stick with stock. Don’t want to hit a deer and have to replace the whole engine.
Aftermarket light brackets be like that sometimes. I had a set from Amazon that I couldn't even install. Had to switch the brackets out with the factory ones. Check out my aux beam video
I actually never did put those side bolts in. I’ve been driving it all this time with no issues. Eventually I want to put them in. I would just have to extend the tabs on the brackets some how
So at 7:35 ish of the vid, you can see my bottom line from where the slant ends… then I went 1.5” up from there. The vertical lines is what I used to line up the top piece with the bottom after cutting

@@CheeHooGarage no am in Canada 🤣... I was just curious cause u sounded Hawaiian .... what’s with the rust on the truck bumper and surface rust on the frame .. was it a mainland shipment (or has the truck been in Hawaii all it’s life?)
@@Leatherkid01 might have come from the mainland in it’s early life. We get bad rust tho here in Hawaii, the salt in the air just trashes metal. Not so much where I live, but if you live on the north shore it gets bad.
@@Abel3270 might not be the exact measurement but the cateye hd pad is thicker so the bumper will need to go down. You can run the grill and hood with out the pad tho. U just won’t get the full HD look.
