This video helped me IN SO MANY WAYS I’ve never pulled a engine yet I’m only 18 I got a 05 coupe motor took a 💩 but this series is the best “how to” series I’ve ever watched Thankyou for the series much appreciation for you my man 💪
Within the first 10 minutes when my man said get the masking tape & label the connectors. I KNEW this was gonna be a VERY HELPFUL video. Excellent Instructor 💯!! My friend thank you for this video!
That’s awesome, I appreciate your comment and you watching my videos. Here’s a link to my favourite video that I’ve ever made should check it out once you’re done watching Civic videos 👉ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r6u5ZJ-oyrU.html ✅
Great video, I've been stumped on a couple parts (A/C trick & harness going into timing cover), you really cleared that up for me, along with dropping the engine down to pull underneath. Great stuff man, keep it up!
thanks for hte vid. i didnt pull my trans, just the engine but im reinstalling this week after i rebuilt it. so using this as a reference. i broke that cam sensor and cracked the transmission bell housing when i removed it. so much dirt i could not see bolts and wiring in the caked mud/muck so i missed some stuff. luckily the cam sensor is cheap and i just welded the bolt ear back onto the trans case. fun times
Doing this on my 05 civic sedan 5spd as soon as it’s warm out. Would’ve loved to get the acura for the interior and the body style. I’m thinking of putting a k20 in instead of a d17 since you don’t get VTEC with d17. THE MOST reliable engine I’ve ever owned by far as long as you put oil in it. I have a 9th Gen si coupe and I already built the block just waiting on the turbo kit 💪🏼
Awesome video! Didn’t realize Canada had an Acura version🙂 the booty on it looks similar to an 02 accord. Going to be ordering a d17a for my civic soon
Nice video. I have an 2005 honda civic and my mechanic said their's engine oil mixing with the coolant and therefore needs a new engine. is this true? he opened the coolent cap and showed me the coolent bubbling.
You either need a new engine or a new head gasket, unless somethings cracked somewhere, the machine shop will test the head when you get it re-machine before installing the new head gasket.
Do you guys think it’s worth it to change motor on 2004 Honda civic ex? Probably head gasket or warped but I’m thinking instead of doing gasket just replace engine and or rebuild? Need your guys opinion or sell it for $509 and call it a day since the car isn’t worth as much as it’s gonna take to fix it.
Great video-great work- the only thing I didnt like was all the way you have the car supported /it is unsafe. Should have used safety jacks to begin with -rather then mentioning them in video.
Hello, I follow your video to install a used motor on my son's civic. I was wondering if you can help me with any advice. Do I need to recode the ecu? It won't start
I have a 05 el. The d17 is toast. I wanna get k24 in there, would it be smarter to get it done professionally or can it be done at home over a longer period?
If you want it to be reliable and you wanna drive just put the same engine in, once you start upgrading things and changing things you won’t have a reliable car anymore
check for the vtec solenoid on the back of the valve cover. Even if you get one with a vote but you care doesn't have you. leave it alone or just replace it with a metal back plate
Is it possible rip out the transmission and engine together and put a new one in together as a single unit? Or do you need to take them out and put it in individually?
Hey man! Great video watched it Couple times and about to do mine this weekend. I was told the pan swap doesn’t matter ? Thoughts opinions ? And wouldn’t it be easier to pull from Top. Looks like a straight shot up? Thank you! Great great video
@@jacobchurchill8163 just pulled mine out the top, with engine/trans connected and all the accessories on like A/c compressor, alternator, and starter all stayed on. Took me 45 to pull
My mechanic found an engine with 104 thousand miles on it for almost 600 dollars .. or so and he's putting it in my 2001 honda civic.. the old engine had 180 thousand miles on it... the engine is coming on Monday or Tuesday this coming week! I'll have my car back next week!
I don’t understand the question but that’s exactly what I’m doing in these three videos just follow the videos, I believe the starters are the same from what I remember
@@ProblemSolverGarage yeah I watched till the end you did the exact same swap I did the only reason the starter is in a different place is because of the different flywheel assembly and the starter attaches on the transmission I was wondering if you couldn’t swap the motor form a auto to a Manuel because of the different starter location but you just half to put the clutch and everything on the new motor
You could of just tooken the motor mounts off and lift the engine out instead of taking it out with the subframe doing all that work to take it out underneath
It’s Acura el , Canadian version of the Honda Civic, Honda engine Honda transmission. It is the exact same thing in every way except for the front and rear bumper. I did explain that in the video
