They have ONE thing to lose (their LIFE) & NOTHING to give..... Not even SH**..... Why do you think MOST people say “I DON’T GIVE A SH**?”..... because they DON’T.
Many people less privileged than you don’t have the luxury of knowing that. You wouldn’t want to address those issues, just blame poor people for their desperate behavior.
I'm from Italy and regularly fascinated by these videos, not so much because I'm particularly fond of police chases, but rather by seeing the same pattern repeating over and over again... Suspect running for miles and miles, usually at dangerously high speed, with a dozen police cars in hot pursuit, a couple of choppers keeping track of the ride and a statistical likelihood of fleeing equal to zero, only to eventually pull over and surrender. Well, it is precisely this hopeless tenacity that I just can't understand. Is it a "make it or break it" sort of logic? Or just taking a chance for showing off? I'm wondering if, were the police cars equipped with a special taximeter adding up a month of jail for each minute of pursuit, would this prove an effective deterrent?

Then as he opens the door and leaves the car the shadows of the spirits slowly move away to let the LA cops takeover from there.
