INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 02.14.2023 | 9:00 PM
LOCATION: Long Beach Blvd / I-105
CITY: South Los Angeles
DETAILS:
LASD and CHP were pursuing a possible stolen vehicle throughout South LA.
Officers pursued the vehicle for nearly two hours on city streets.
CHP was able to successfully deploy spike strips.
Officers conducted several PIT maneuvers on the vehicle, however, the suspect was able to continue driving.
CHP officers finally were able to PIT the vehicle and block the driver from going any further.
The driver was taken into custody.

I saw the whole livestream last night. Perks of being single on V-day. CHP didn’t attempt a single pit for 90 minutes. When they did, they tried 4 pits in a row and couldn’t stop him. The 5th pit finally got him. This guy was an absolute legend that night with 4 wanted level stars in a Kia no less. Everyone in the RU-vid live chat was spamming Ws for this guy. He even had locals all over LA come out to pay their respects!

I understand that they want to be careful and not PIT maneuver him into oncoming traffic, but don’t you think it’s more dangerous to let it go on this long? 90 minutes is a long time to be going through red lights, even if at a slow speed. Anyone from California knows how some people drive with their face in their phone and it only takes one car to cause a bad wreck

When you realised that the iconic CHP siren is just a regular whelen siren tone that have a different pitch/tone/sound, CHP one is more softer while regular whelen is piercing which is a good thing considering how people react to emergency vehicles

they took forever to pit that guy. and dont tell me, oh cause it was unsafe. bruh, they had so many chances to stop this guy. oh and the pit they actually did, only made the guy do a couple of 360s and take off again. good job
