Just like any police officer would do, when the four-wheeler came driving by, in order for her to see if it is legal and registered, she would have to investigate by interviewing the ATV, so she put on her lights and siren to pull the ATV over. . It became a chase when he disobeyed her and ran. That's when it became a chase. Btw, I am sure the ATV ran at that point because he was totally legal and would have no problems if he stopped to show her he had ATV regiatered with insurance. I don't live in that area so I don't know if what you say is correct about a no Chase Law

My exact thought! The deputy should have been suspended for 6 months with no pay after this crap. I'm definitely not a fan of quads or such on public or neighborhood roads, just too dang loud... As a kid growing up in rural America, we did this for entertainment all the time. Ride up near a cop, flip them off and let the adrenaline flow! And this guy wasn't even a very good rider.

Most fun I've ever had was physically running from police. Me and a buddy would stand on a corner, dressed in all black, and run as soon as a cop looked at us. Nothing illegal about that, and holy crap it was FUN! We spent hours running the police all over town. We ducked, dodged, and ran from 10PM to 6AM. Maybe the best night of my life.
the group of 5-6 of us would do this almost every weekend. after a year or so, one sheriff found out where one of us lived.....never stopped the chasing, but always had a car in the driveway waiting...was still fun.

We used to run from the cops years ago on three wheelers. So much so that they went down and borrowed the Kawasaki 200 three wheelers from the beach to chase us with. Ours were much faster and had extended axles so it was a complete joke. Once they were chasing us and we slid around this corner and there's a jump after that corner that we knew about but they didn't and they wrecked. We rode back up within about 50 yards and ask them if they were okay? They kept saying come here now we said do you need an ambulance they said no we said goodbye have a nice day

I remember when those Banshees came out. My buddy had one and raced four wheelers at the time and after a few mods that thing flat out flew! Felt like it took about 3 seconds to hit 80mph lol it was actually scary.
I grew up riding 4 wheelers. I had a Honda 400 EX and I've ran from police a few times on it.. Never came close to getting caught. I've driven a few Banshees and they are crazy fast in acceleration. I watched one smoke a SS Camaro over and over and over on a dead end road near where I lived.. I grew up in the back woods of NC and everyone had a 4 wheeler or dirt bike.. Thats all we did all weekend long was ride.. Summer vacation, we would only come home for gas money and food money at the local gas station/grill.. I miss those days

Did this almost exactly as a passenger with my boy driving and on snowy roads through NJ town, a supermarket parking lot, and a few lights. After 5min+ of just riding next to our rear wheel and us refusing to stop for his screaming in the loudspeaker the maniac was trying to bump us at 65mph. Best part was how his siren parted traffic ahead of us. Scary good times

The dude almost lost it when he made the last turn on pavement and jumped from a driveway. ATV could've had the same result in getting to the trails in the woods even if he drove slower. The cop had no way of stopping him on the ATV so he could've driven a little safer until he got close to the woods.
