Hi, Skulldragon379, TL;DR, you cannot assign gaming mice to the unifying receiver. Also, you cannot assign unifying technology based mice to the nano receiver comes with gaming mice. (with logitech gaming 'G' logo on the receiver) Below is the detailed explanation why. In fact, Logitech has 3 different technology for wireless dongle (so to speak..) There is no official category name about this, but they are as below. Type 1 : Unifying receiver, and nano receiver based on unifying technology Typically, a mouse or keyboard compatible with unifying receiver comes with a unifying receiver (with orange * logo) However, there are some mice compatible with unifying receiver come with simple nano receiver, but it is actually nano receiver based on unifying technology. For example M350 pebble (which covered in the video above) You can find if a certain mouse supports unifying receiver by checking 'SPECS & DETAILS' section from Logitech website. Main difference of unifying receiver and nano receiver based on unifying technology is that Unifying receiver can connect multiple devices simultaneously, whereas nano receiver only can be connected to single mouse or keyboard. Type 2 : Nano receiver doesn't based on unifying technology. Typically found on low-cost mouse+keyboard combo. Nano receiver in this package is hardwired to the specific mouse and keyboard combo, so it cannot be re-assigned to other keyboard or mouse. (For example MK235 keyboard and mouse combo) Type 3 : Logitech gaming nano receiver Gaming models of Logitech products are based on totally different technology, so they are not compatible with Unifying technology.

@@gyuhangcho2584 Thank you very much for the explanation. I should have done a little more research on my mouse before I tried to cheat the system a little 😅. But just to confirm, for the exact model of mouse that I have, I have to get the exact receiver that comes with it for it to work right? There is no other way to connect this mouse to my laptop in a practical manner? For example purchasing items to mod the motherboard is off the table, but reprogramming the mouse to possible connect it to a nano-receiver, is something I’m willing to do.

@@skulldragon3799 Honestly, I thought it is not possible to connect the non-gaming nano receiver (based on unifying tech.) with the gaming mice because I tried to connect Logitech G700s with unifying receiver and failed. After a quick research few minutes ago, I found an ebay seller who says a plain (non-unifying) nano receiver can also be connected to the 305 lightspeed. If you already have a plain nano receiver, please try to use latest connection utility, because the latest update (2018-06-05) says it also supports G305. support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025141574

@@gyuhangcho2584 Update, I purchased the item you mentioned in your link. I tried to connect it via Logitech connection utility software but it didn't work. The page says it is compatible with my mouse but I have no clue how. Possibly the receiver (which is non-unifying) has the capability to talk to the mouse given a connection, but the connection between the two devices is what is lacking in this equation. Do you have any insight on how receivers and devices communicate with each other? Specifically the G305 which I believe is an RF mouse. Maybe it could be possible to force a connection between the two through a process similar to what the connection utility software uses but manual. I am just throwing ideas around at this point, but please let me know your thoughts. Final note after you last comment I did a bit of digging and found out that the G305 can't connect to different receivers because it itself has no unifying technology, which leads me to believe that it falls into the 3rd type of wireless mouse (from your original comment).
