She's the best! Hilarious all these shocked faces in the audience......why they are there??? If you buy a ticket for Joan, you know what will happening.....R.I.P.
…by the by, I'm sure you follow Joan like I do too, & just to remind you, she uses the dog-eating bit with Koreans too, so take no real offense, you know we can't help but love Joan!
Ellen Thompson Doubt it! cause, i know they have a law where you can't harm a dog or cats or harm any animals.. in the phillippines or you will be put to jail.. so..I don't know what youre talking about . We don't eat dogs.. that's just disgusting.. And especially road kill or squirrel.. gross! Although, there are foods in different cultures in which, will sound disgusting to another culture, french eat horse meat, escargot, scots eat sheeps brain, nordics eat rotten shark meat.. fargos eat whales, some people in united states especially in the southern part eats road kills, squirrels, possum, rabbit soups. Japan eat puffer fish, whales, sharks, vietnam eats grasshoppers, chinesse do eat dogs.. that's for sure. They actually have a real market for dog meat in china. And I think that in the phillippines they do eat those goose eggs or embryo eggs now those are disgusting but it is a delicacy to some filipinos personally, i haven't tasted those food.. I couldn't bare the thought of eating those.. Yeah, So, It all depends on culture .. Where, some food may be disgusting to some cultures, and some foods are a delicacy to some..It's called Anthropology.. And How people uses, the environment to forage, and survive on those environments.. I think they ate dogs before.. I don't know probably in the 50s .. But, During these times I think they will be put to jail if they harm dogs, cats or any animals.. I kinda read some news about those.. part where they are tightening animal cruelty and putting people to jail in the phillippines.. SO, yeah..
Ellen Thompson Furthermore, There are some cultures who dislike dogs and considered dogs as evil .. Like, the muslims who doesn't allow dogs come near them or put them in their houses cause, they think that dogs are the devil.. And I think in China, There are some people who are trying to stop other people or educating other people to stop eating dogs. So basically, You can't generalize everyone.. Like, I can't really tell if all french eat horse, escargot and I highly doubt that all americans especially who lives in the west coasts eats possum.. So, it's not all people in that culture does things. It's just that we need to be more educated or some people needed to be more educated when it comes to culture. So, we don't need to generalize everyone cause, if we do generalize everyone then, That is kinda considered bigotry. Where, You don't really know individuals. you just heard it. And Assumes that everyone does it.. But, Like, what I said It is kinda funny where, the misconceptions were it propels to exaggerations. But, personally, and the people I know We never heard such things.. Or done such things.. I overheard some people do.. But, I never experienced it or seen it personally.. That's just kinda sick..
Ellen Thompson Not really, I live in the Philippines and dogs aren't even eaten as a delicasy here. It's not even part of our culture. It's more known in Vietnamese culture. In her other act, she used "Koreans" instead of 'Filipino's'.
I'm Filipino and I cackled when she mentioned eating dogs. I mean, I don't but my neighbours do and they usually eat it when drinking because they're cheap BHAHAHA! and other dogs bark at them so they rub a chinese lemon on their hands
why would people go to comedy shows to get offended? i love joan and compared to a lot of other comedians her jokes are in good taste - i always get surprised when she has to deal with weirdos in the audience
I think some people get off being offended by things .Like a few of the people in this audience. It was no secret that Joan was not politically correct in her humor . She had to bitch slap a heckler in a US appearance
@@lindaeasley4336 for someone who made a living out of dark humor, joan wasn't that much of a lighten up person herself. Theres an interview in which she got butthurt just bc the interviewer made a joke mentioning her daughter. can we talk? i mean... it is just...
I was born & raised & eventually will die in the Philippines. You know when they say that there are elements of truth in stereotypes? I remember once my next door neighbor hang a mutt & blowtorch the fur off. Guess what it's for? …and this was in a gated community in Metro Manila! The "dogeater" thing is old & overkilled, true. But what the hell!- Some tribes is Papua New Guinea eat one another! Who cares already! (PS- I can't think of any Filipino comic who can hold a candle to Ms Rivers!)
very exaggerated joke on Filipinos, it is not offensive but its complete nonsense... But i still love her, hope this video wont be watched by Filipino comedians coz she's gonna be sorry...
@@carolcoates3750 the first comment totally contradicts your reply in the 2nd comment - get back in your box carol and think about little changes you could make to be less of a c**t and more kind.
I had laughed my head off at all of her jokes but the F..... fur was too much for me. She did love her dogs but her inability to understand that fur belongs on the animals , and not on the vain women's bodies totally blows her conscious mind . All of a sudden her jokes are no longer funny and I am done watching her.
And people pay to see this. Very very not funny just stupid. Her and Lucille Ball were the same mean spirited mediocre comedians. She got lucky thats all.
