Just wish he didn't talk the way he did about Amy Winehouse when he talked about it. That has tarnished his image in my eyes. I know, what I see doesn't matter. Same goes for you
One of the things I love so much about this show is that the guests always seem to enjoy each other. Egos are checked at the door. The give and take between everyone is so comedic. What fun!
Totally different than talk shows in the US where it almost seems, sometimes anyway, that the guests try to outwit one another, to the point where the audience doesn't enjoy any of them. At least that was true a few years ago. I have noticed that lately the current crop of talk shows have a format where each guest is brought on stage individually, and then leave during a commercial break. The next guest comes on after the break to an empty stage. Graham Norton manages to get several celebrities, presumably with large egos, to relax enough around each other to act genuine. More than that, I get the feeling they actually ARE genuine while on his show. How Graham does that is a wonder.
I lived in England for a bit when this show first started. I'm an American and I was just blown away that this show was on, "regular," TV, that you might bring in with an antenna, ya know? It had cussing, and it was lewd, and I LOVED it! Haha It makes so much sense to me that it has stood the test of time. :)
This is a really great show. It’s a breath of fresh air compared to all the seriously hurtfull things said on so many other shows. Everyone is made fun of but it’s not mean spirited. And not much politics are politics are discussed. 😁 Everyone has fun and Graham Norton is terrific.
Never mind, I went back til I could hear her name. Miriam is one of the funniest women I've ever heard. She is so dang funny & keeps that straight face when she comes out with those outrageous comments & stories.
Canada🇨🇦 Loves Graham Norton!! Every one of his guests Genuinely have a Good Time...If I ever get to go there I'd Love to see a taping.Love You&Proud of You Graham!!!
England has the best late night talk show host. The only American current late night host I can even stand is Jimmy Fallon. It is to bad that Craig Ferguson is no longer an American Late Night Talk Host. When will Graham Norton get his Knighthood? Or at least become Sir Graham Norton? Thank you for uploading these funny clips.
Graham is Irish from the irish Republic, so technichally can be given a knighthood (like Norman Swarzkopf or Bob Geldof), but might not have wanted one. Everyone is always asked behorehand if they will take the award, and every so often someone will say that they turned it down, or more rarely, people hand their awards back.
Only thing that I'm sad about is that I didn't find out about it show till I was 39 totally agree and he does his show so awesomely it's like he knows stories about his guests that nobody knows even the guests are surprised by the stories he knows
Miryam was being openly racist towards Alan because he's Scottish and speaks like Scottish people. If Alan had been any other race, no one would be laughing.
No one cares when it's two white people white on white. Even less when the targets are any of the "British" subcategories, less still when it's [from an outsider POV] Brit on Brit. Normally I like to call out that kind of BS selective perspective too, but it's totally dominant plus even I sometimes feel it. They're the same 'race' by most standards even if not the same ethnicity. Plus my people were all Scots up until my parents time [both born there] and even I am willing to tolerate fun with the Scots. Groundskeeper Willie is hilarious, even though some people think his character is negative. Unlike well-developed character-integrated Apu, Willie is full on stereotype and no one will ever object officially. Still funny, though. My hero. @@Mac-sb5lj
@@TonyEnglandUK Yes I did catch that episode and it was great as usual! Idk who does his research on guests but they're damn good. Try to watch Miriam Margoyles episodes. They'll kill ya!
My wife and I watched ever Huge Laurie House T.V. show that came out. Imagine my surprise when I saw Huge Laurie on an old British show and he was speaking with an British accent. I thought he was either American or from Canada.
When Christian Bale got up to make his acceptance speech at the Oscars, a whole lot of Americans were totally bewildered about his British accent. Was it for a part? they wondered. Nope, he's a Welshman!
You need to watch "A bit of Fry and Laurie" with his comedy partner Stephen Fry (voice of the Harry Potter Audiobooks). They then played Jeeves and Wooster, and these were excellent as well. You're in for a treat! If you like the sketch show, you might also like "Victoria Wood as seen on TV" and if you like that, she wrote and starred in "Dinnerladies" which has a marvellous ensemble cast.
Totally agree only thing I have to say negative is it took me to get to the age of 39 to discover his show I wish it would have broadcasted Morning America he is so awesome
I so adore Alan Cumming & that accent which brings me back to childhood hearing my Grandparents speak. I miss it so much! Holy crap! Bruce Springsteen looks so much like Deniro here! Too funny.
Miriam is one of my favorite guests. When I’m that age, that’s how I want to be 😂 I’m getting there, I’m 49 and already foul mouthed, dirty minded and don’t care what I say. I just hope I can start that way 😂
Smith is a real entertainer and character. The sticks are extensions of his body. I’ll bet drummers never get dementia- fitting all the pieces of the puzzle together & thinking on their feet.
I realized that I hadn’t really seen “Late Night” until I saw the Graham Norton Show! He is the best & I love how much fun his guest have together & the stories they tell together!
