Essentially a one week time lapse of building my 02 Tacoma. 05+ Superduty axles and Wfo concepts kit. Lots done, many pictures!
If anyone has questions on this build let me know.
New to RU-vid, and going to start uploading videos/pictures of work done in the shop, axle builds, motor swaps, you name it!

Randomly found another gold 4 door sas. Mine is currently in the shop under the knife. Rubicon 44s and 37s.

Nice rig. I am leaning towards the radius arm kit as well. How well does it flex? Any pics or videos of it fully flexed? I read radius setups bind. How has your experience been so far?
@kingfabandoffroad8203
@kingfabandoffroad8203 2 года назад
It certainly henders flex a little bit. This setup shines in two ways though. It drives on the road daily on 40s, 70mph and corners great. And it keeps a low frame height with no body roll. So if your building a truck only to rock crawl and want massive flex don’t buy this kit. In my opinion this kit works great because I don’t need anymore travel or articulation to get anywhere. Solid kit, and straight forward as well.

Doing great. 15k miles on it. And the motor is about to finally hit 550k miles. You can’t beat them.

@@kingfabandoffroad8203 That's great! Mine has only 128k on it. Looking forward to keeping it forever.

Thinking about doing the same swap soon to my tacoma, IE wfo radius arm kit and everything, just wondering what weight springs on the fox coilovers did you go with? Just trying to get everything in order before I drop the money. Thanks!

I believe mine are 250/300s. Accutune will set you up if you order from them. Great people to deal with. Also I highly recommend WFOs kit for a kit that bolts in fairly straight forward, with amazing road manners. Limit of flex, but that is a general rule with radius. Any questions with the kit, or anything further I’d be happy to help

So to clear things up for me...does the wfo radius arm kit work with the factory mounts on the axle?
@kingfabandoffroad8203
@kingfabandoffroad8203 Год назад
Yes it sure does. And then you put their crossmember in place and everything is bolt on from there as far as the radius arms go. Super straight forward and extremely strong mounts and hardware.

Does it not make you nervous doing all that work on a truck with half a million miles? Even if it is a Toyota
@kingfabandoffroad8203
@kingfabandoffroad8203 2 года назад
Honestly not at all. If anything I love that it has the miles cause I know the truck, and confide in it. And I’m also the type of person who isn’t scared to fix whatever it may need. Literally the only thing still original on the truck is the body and motor.🤷🏼‍♂️

Im currently building my axles to do the same, what Yokes did you use on the axles/t-case? Did you re use the stock drive shafts?
@kingfabandoffroad8203
@kingfabandoffroad8203 2 года назад
So... originally I used the factory driveshafts with a custom sterling to Toyota adapter that a machinist buddy made for me. Then I had a custom driveshaft made to length with Toyota flange/yoke at transfer case, and Ford sterling flange/yoke. Only down side to these axles is making sure your pinion angles are they way they need to be, or you will get vibes/noise. And front driveshaft is a completely stock 96 Tacoma front. And also I set axles/wheelbase to accept stock driveshaft lengths...

How much would it take $$ to do this?
@kingfabandoffroad8203
@kingfabandoffroad8203 Год назад
Well depending on the routes you go it varies these days. I’d say someone could acquire most parts, wheels tires, exc.... for around $20k. Little less of doing used parts, and finding deals. And then the equation of if your doing the work yourself, or having someone do it for you. That is a huge expense as well. So in closing it’s hard to say.
