Thank you for this video. So, my heater core on my 2004 jeep liberty sprung a leak, and I have decided to bypass the heater core. I have 3 gallons of premix coolant at the moment, and I'm wondering if that is enough. I'm not a mechanic, but I pretend to be every time I have car trouble, lol.
Have an '04 Liberty too. So this is what I got from your video. Is this correct? 1. Close drain valve after all coolant drained. Open coolant cap and fill to fill line with new 50/50 mix 2. Leave coolant cap off 3. Start engine and turn on heat. Let engine run with cap OFF. 4. Watch coolant level and fill as it goes down to fill line (air is being purged) 5. After about 5 minutes, put on coolant cap ? ? ???? My old antifreeze was a little dirty but I might skip flushing with distilled water as I don't have any and would have to walk to the store 😆 idk
Only if i see a lot of bad stuff or i am having a overheating problem will i flush with a hose. but in this case were i had a leak ,or if i was just changing fluid i don't tend to worry about a complete flush.
