My brothers 05 civic has the same issue cranks but no start I'm sure it has fuel but is it actually shooting fuel out of the injectors probably not they say if the temp sensor by the egr is not working it won't open the fuel injectors but I did dump fuel in the throttle body and still nothing I'm thinking it's the ecu not communicating with the Ignition to fire off coils or I'm just not sure what to do there's no code to go by
I had a 2000 civic that had the same problem it was the igniter in the cap and rotor and similar in my integra that was a main relay under the driver’s side dash black box
What was it dude, I have the same issue. Crank no start, I have everything working, spark, fuel, etc.. I noticed the previous owner replaced the distributor on it. Thinking maybe he didn't do timing properly.
@@Usmanthemecano I thought of security issue but 2 things to note: 1) I checked for kill switch and did not find one. Also checked gas, spark and throttle. 2) After cranking over the engine for a while it hesitates very little like it wants to start. I'm thinking timing maybe? I did find an old distributor and new distributor box un the trunk. Definitely old owner changed the distributor. Going nuts trying to start it for a week already.
I have similar problem, my 2003 civic crank but won't start when i left it under sunlight in hot day, but when the weather is cool like in the morning or the evening it start just fine. Please help me find out what is wrong with my car.
Did you guys ever figure this problem out if not I had the same problem with a 2005 civic from a bad crankshaft position sensor and the plug, Now in most cases it almost always started cold until one day it didn't I ended up replacing it under the trees while on vacation, I bought a new sensor from O-Reilly auto parts because the one from advance auto failed even though it was in the same looking parts box, mine had a corroded connector on the engine harness end if the connections are green you must replace the three wire plug because if you don't it will destroy another sensor. Good luck everyone. Yes it was on the 1.7l honda vtec single cam engine .
You are a good mechanic but you really need to invest in a scope, there are some cheap scopes out there. Hantek 1008c is one of them! How does it sounds when cranking, compression test?
I'll look into that (Hantek). Today I'll check compression. It's not the strongest nor the weakest crank to be honest. I'll try to get it on film. I'm kinda leaning towards bad fuel as in could the owner mistakenly put diesel in that car... I pulled out the plugs and they were damp. The last time we tried to start the car was a week ago...I would expect gas to have evaporated by now
Same issue 2005 Honda civic ex start then turn off change spark plugs, coils, fuel pump, throttle body, idle control valve, throttle position sensor, relays, fuses, and still doesn't stay on
