does this song make you have a weird feeling in all your stomachs, but also kinda gives you this sudden burst of hope? Emma's story is sooo sad, yet she becomes a hero. Now that I think bout the show, I realize it actually has a meaning. Never give up, through the darkness, there is light.
All you need is a little bit of hope...any amount of hope is magic and as long as it is with you every thing can be alright in the end. This is a very important lesson that Once teaches. it seems to be in almost every story, especially fairy tales that's what stories are mainly for to give you hope.
I can’t believe this show ended 4 years ago… I followed it from like the 2nd-3rd season and anticipated every episode and new season, watched so many promos and interviews and whatnot. I don’t know if I’ll ever have a show like this that I experienced so deeply ever again. And I’m okay with that.
I love how in the first season this theme is sad and lonely plays but in the final episode, when Emma enters the caste with Hook and the baby, this theme plays again but with a more cheerful, full of hope melody. It shows how far Emma has come.❤
This song is full of just the pure love of a mother to her child, a bit of fear, a bit of doubt, a little sadness watching her child grow up and have to face the world, a little helplessness at watching her child hurt, but mostly hope and love. A lot of love, in fact it’s pretty much all love...

If there's ever a category in any TV awards show for "Most Inspirational" it should go to OUAT, hands down, no contest! No other show breeds hope and redemption like this one does! With all the heartbreak, tragedy and villainous deeds they were still able to come together as the family they were always meant to be. Albeit, in Neverland it's hard to think that will ever happen but as the seasons progress you see alas that it does. If there's hope for Rumple and Evil Queen/Regina then there's hope for us!

I'm hella late to the party.. But damn this song is so emotionally powerful. Everytime I hear it I think back to the scene where Emma & Henry are having to cross the town line and everyone of Storybooke are on the other side. It was an emotional scene because just when she found her parents & everything started being better & even Regina was changing ...she lost it all...due to another curse & worst part about it all it was a curse tht made her forget Storybrooke ever existed..let alone that she ever had a life in Storybrooke😥
I love this song and I think it describes so well Emma in the first seasons she was an orphan she had suffered a lot but she had hope now she is acting like a teenager who only cares about his boyfriend she was selfish she should have let Hook move on. I really miss the old Emma that's why I really loved the 5x20 flashback and I hope the bring the old Emma back

I would say what you are referring to is character development. Emma has changed a lot from someone who was closed off and afraid of letting people into her life. She has become more hopeful and open to the world which is something you want to see from a character like this. If she was the same in season one with the very tough exterior and unwillingness to believe in the world and in the love her family and yes boyfriend, then that would mean she hadn't ever grown. That wouldn't be a very good thing would it? Emma going after Hook (which she was more than willing to do ALONE) is a sign of that change. She wants to fight for true love, something she didn't even believe in back in the early seasons. Why would she want to give that up so easily? And anyways, Killian couldn't move on. He was stuck in the underworld with unfinished business. I think bringing back that old Emma would be really tragic, because then she'd be hurting, closed off and broken again. She's still a badass.
I can't go back to who I was yesterday, because it's not who I am today. We all want to go back to who we were, but if we did that we'd forget who we've become.
Reminds me of season 3 episode two when she admitted who she really was..an orphan. And my favorite episode the first one when she bought the cupcake herself and lit it. I know it was sad and I cry a little every time I watch it but I whisper to myself Emma you won't always be alone. You'll be okay I promise. Everyone needs to watch Once Upon a Time.

I started watching OUAT when I was six, it finished when I was 11. It was a big part of my life. It made me believe in magic. And this song gets me every time. I don’t say it out loud now because I’m a teen and this is not a tv show for teens (that’s what my friends think) and I told them I got it over, but I didn’t. This is the theme in every scene when something sad happened to Emma. I remember Neal’s death. I cried my eyes out, and I’m not an easy crier. It just broke my heart and every time I hear this song I remember that scene and OUAT in general. Thank you so much, OUAT. I own you everything.
