In this video, I will show you how to replace the passenger side (right) CV axle. Note that you will need a pipe for leverage to remove the axle nut. The axle nut is tight.

How’s the quality of the axle ? I heard some have shaking after it was replaced depending on the brand. But have you have any issues ever since ?
@OEMEangg
@OEMEangg 10 месяцев назад
The quality seems pretty good. I have not had any issues.

@@randybarrera2867 Did you touch or removed the intermediate shaft? In the video I think incorrectly called it this "middle" shaft.

@OEMEangg

@@randybarrera2867 A simple test would be to put the old cv axle back on. If it does not shake, then the new axle is bad. If it does not shake, it is something else.

I went to Autzone (store) near by. You could probably order online autozone.com. If you want to order from Amazon: Both side- amzn.to/3Lxi568 or passenger side only- amzn.to/453twtd . (The parts are for 2.0L Civic Si)

Is changing the driver side axle done the same way?
@OEMEangg
@OEMEangg 4 месяца назад
It is similar. There might be a couple of steps that differs. I think I have a video on the driver side. Let me check.

I bought the same axles from autozone, tighten everything to spec, didnt change the middle axle just the left and right. Car vibrates when i accelerate. You are not experiencing this?
@OEMEangg

Everything worked fine after the install. Not sure what your issue could be.

would it be the same for a 2012 honda civic si?

I think it would be similar.
@GhadSpeed
@GhadSpeed Год назад
When you changed yours out did you notice any kind of vibration when accelerating at low rpm or high rpm? I just changed mines out. The OEM came out and the aftermarket brand went in. I picked up the Duralast Gold brand. As soon as I got on the road my car would vibrate @ 20mph - 30MG when I’m on the throttle as soon as I let off it goes away like it was never there.
@OEMEangg
@OEMEangg Год назад
@@GhadSpeed Since this is a simple remove and replace, I am going to guess you tighten every nut and bolts. I like Duralast products. They make pretty good parts. It might be something else. Try switching the front tires with the rear tires. See if you can still feel the vibration.

Did you hammer the axle out like this for your 2012? I’m looking at doing this for a 2015 si this weekend. Not seeing anything for 9th gena but it looks similar for sure
@OEMEangg

@@vlnt_ryan It should be the same. If you have all the required tools, it should be a simple task. You will be fine. Just take your time.

@OEMEangg Год назад
@@McDzy I would guess if it is your first time, it might take 12-14 hours. If you do not have a very powerful impact gun, I would loosen the axle nut before anything. For some reason, Honda seems to overtighten the axle nut. Loosen the axle nut while the wheels are on the ground.
