Just an opinion of a very loyal Ramones fan: This is a good cover. It kept much of the fun of the original, added some depth in the sound I'm really not a KISS fan at all, but I have to say, having listened to quite a few Ramones covers, this is definitely one of the better covers.
@@69kevroletfastback33 Kizz sucks, get over that first. The only "amazing" thing about them was the pyrotecincs, make up an wardrobe and the blood running down Gene Simmons tounge. Fact!. And maybe also that they came from detroit?! 🤟🤘
@@69kevroletfastback33 You couldn`t be more right. They are still often talked about as someone who hide their deficiencies with the show and the image. In truth they were always great songwriters and they always knew what is essential for a song. That is the most difficult part of musicianship IMO. Kiss seldom had pointless wankery so often heard elsewhere in hard rock. They always played and sang with dedication and fitting style. Kiss MTV Unplugged show hasn`t been surpassed by any more respected rock band.
After watching School of Rock I always wanted to hear this version... Now here I am almost 18 years later, listening to this for the first time in its full form.
KISS doing a good job covering THE RAMONES shouldn't surprise anyone, both bands come from the same background, the same city, from the same era, with a lot of the same attitude to how they made their music and performed.KISS was a rock band that always had a little punk in it and THE RAMONES are a punk band that played rock 'n' roll.
Alan Huff No,both bands come from N.Y.C.,were formed around 1973/1974 by guys who were native New Yorkers, and were both originally seen as outliers,as a bunch of weirdos making music no one else played. They set the style for a lot of bands that would come later.

This is fucking awesome. I'm from New York, Both bands are from New York, My favorite Hard Rock band covering my favorite Punk Rock band. Good work guys!!!
i worked in NYC in 2003 as a software engeener, i'm italian, from Florence (FIRENZE)...i consider NYC my second city..sorry for my bad english,me not able to speak english so well... i cheered for the Mets.. but my passion is soccer (in italian is CALCIO in english is football) and the president of my city soccer team (FIORENTINA, of course the best in the world ! :-) ) is from NYC, is Rocco Commisso the boss of NY Cosmos... my passion is rock, blues, heavy, punk music, (i played guitar too but classic not electric one). i was alone in NY (like Simmmons said in Naked City is it correct ?) so i didn't see any rock concert alive in NY...
Seeing is believing, ie it would have been really great if the video of them doing this was available, voices are incredible, kiss can be versatile, saw Paul do Whole lotta love just a moment ago, good music is just that from A to Z 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
I'm a huge kiss have always been 40+ years... I can't get enough of this song and the way kiss did it.. way better than the original.. to bad this isn't part of their regular lineup of songs.. if they would have promoted this the way they do their other stuff this song would be a legend that the public would think it is their song,, kinda like God gave rock' and roll to you which was a remake.. this is an amazing version... kiss is amazing...
It never ends. It lives on. I discovered the Ramones by a Tony Hawk video game in '05. Long after most of the band was gone but It never ends or goes away. It's forever
I'm a big Kiss fan and Ramones,Kiss does a Kick Ass Rockin on this song,PAUL DOES ONE HELL OF A JOB,THIS A HARD SONG TO COVER AND KISS DID IT ..KICK ASS
I agree. This would've been a successful single on classic rock stations, for sure... KISS doing a Ramones cover? What's not to love here... Perfect song for KISS to do too... They really brought the energy that day...
Just heard this & it is sooooo freaking awesome!! Kiss doing punk - what??? I LOVE it!! Brilliant tribute to another great band! Absolutely brilliant - well done!! :D
KISS, to me, has always had a huge punk side going on. Be it the raw and rowdy attitude they had in their early years or the ever-so-loud, we-do-it-our-way stance they srill boast, they have flipped fingers to conventions all along.
Jack Simon Actually in Finland Ramones is played like 4-7 times a day in rock n roll station radio channels. And they are no small stations either, Radio City must be like 4th or 3rd biggest station in the country and they play Ramones regularly. Everything from the debut to newer releases.
This was before the original lineup reunited, Peter Criss wasn’t in the band either, and as the Ramones only had one guitarist I guess Bruce Kulick didn’t need to be on it:\
