Hey I used two methods to fix the rear cracked plastic. First was using zip ties like I was sticking up the fender. Second thing I did was use plastic welder underneath the fender for extra strength. If you go the zip tie route us a small drill bit just good enough to get the zip tie through the plastic.
Hey thank you, with the FCR carb it had no fitment issues. This Carb was bought from Curtis sparks racing especially designed for the 400ex. The tank sits just above the carb with small clearance.
Hey thank you, I just tried searching for the shrouds on Ebay which is how I purchased them and wasn’t able to find anything similar. I would search “400ex shrouds” on eBay to see if they eventually pop back up for sale.
I’ve ran it open and closed but to say I feel a difference between both is tough. I run the lid to keep the filter clean but I’m sure there is a slight benefit running no lid.
@floridatrailrider305 The reason I'm asking is because I changed my exhaust (stock 400ex) to a slip-on and felt big gains in bottom and mid-range power. The slightest of gains on top-end and more noise. Then, I changed to a full system with the promise of gains all over. The bottom and mid-range is probably a little better than stock. Hard to tell. Top-end now pulls a tiny bit better from what I can feel. The bike had near-perfect jetting. I've been trying to find a solution to gain back that bottom-mid power without running an open box and aftermarket filter and thought the ehs or equivalent lid would give at least half the gains. From you, it sounds like it's not worth it. Thanks for replying!
Got the seat cover on eBay and yes it should fit. Here’s the link www.ebay.com/itm/274784465234?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=yzANJZuKQ2C&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=6AnnVnSGT2i&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=MORE
It’s a battery box cover from the TRX450 that we made to fit on this 400ex. Small modifications were made to make fit. Feel free to message us @florida_trail_rider via Instagram for more details.
