It's somewhat of a loose guide more than real instructions 😂😂 On my mk4 build,where it was unclear on steps I'd leave extra material. You can always come back and cut more, but it'll stink to have to put something back. It's a very humbling build if you want everything to go as you plan in your head.
I'm about to start my 3rd Smyth kit, but has yet found a good or an easy way to r4emove the rear glass. First kit I broke the glass, 2nd kit I used a Multi-tool. Both were a lot of work. How did you get the glass out in one piece? hanks in advance for your advice
Your third kit?!?!?! Wow. I should be asking YOU how this gets done. LOL I actually tried a lot of things, with various levels of success. Welding wire with two handles worked well, but it was slow, and the wire kept breaking. I finally went to Harbor Freight and purchased their Windshield Removal Kit, and that did the trick. www.harborfreight.com/professional-windshield-removal-kit-96339.html
There are tools specifically made to remove F&R glass. There is a cable pull that doesn't break and a like 90 degree knife. Hard to describe but every auto glass shop has them. Eastwood may be a source but I wouldn't hesitate to go to auto glass shop and ask a source for these tools. Maybe watch them use them.
I haven't gotten that far yet, but I'm close. Smyth Performance has a RU-vid channel as well, and there are many instructional videos there. Also, Hestermann Motorwerks has done many Smyth kit builds, but not a Charger.
Panelbond is the way to fly. I've used about 5-6 tubes so far for the rear surround and both fenders on my mk4 kit, and for attaching the sheet metal. I drilled for rivets and used them ,but after installing it with panelbond, basically the rivets hold it in place until it cures.
