I was browsing my local retail store and found this, was completely confused (because: retail store) and bought it on a whim for $20 USD. Apparently, I picked up a real find! Thanks for the video!
This is the first time I've heard someone mention the Effect Wings Avalance Exia parts weren't good, every other opinion on them I saw were pretty positive. Guess I have my work cut out for me when I make mine... Great video as always! Third parties are always interesting and this seems like a product made by people who really cared about making a quality product. No fitment issues and sharp sculpting that looks right at home with Bandai RGs is no small feat.
Yeah, the Avalanche Exia parts are particularly nasty with their yellow parts that slip and squeeze themselves out of their connections. The color of the plastic is also nothing like the excellent quality on this gun, so you really have to paint the Exia parts. As a builder, it's not much of a problem other than more work to adjust the fitting really
Hobby, you convinced me to go buy this halfway through the video! That price, the beautiful design, and those face parts are just the icing on top! As neat as the official one is, this one appeals to my design preferences, and heck it seems to be the official design as evidenced by the game clips! I look forward to modding my Nu’s face and adding a bit of panache to my Hi Nu, now to begin building them…
The original launcher's design (this one) makes a lot more sense to me because in the lore, the cannon was borrowed from a Ra Cailum class battleship. And well, it looks like it.

When I bought this gun, I was actually expecting the quality to be not very good. I was very excited to review it after realizing how great it was, and I couldn't wait to tell everyone:)
I've never bought a bootleg gunpla product other than if you count decals, honestly your review of this kinda opened my eyes a bit to what is potentially out there. unrelated to the video but your youtube channel quickly is becoming the best gunpla review show in the english speaking internet, keep up the awesome work dude.
Thank you so much! I was very surprised by this too. Third-party kits I had in the past often had sub-professional quality that needed me to do a lot of adjustments and fixing, but this gun here comes out of the box ready for everything without extra work, and I love it so much for that
With theirs Nu NWS set you not only get a plane to attach all the stuff onto, but also an extra rifle, front skirts with sub-arms and beam sabers, a silly hat for the Nu, the same bootleg stand and a full set of decals for both the HWS parts and the Gundam. All that is of pretty good quality too. Really good deal.
For that head add-on, I can never find a detailed photo of it. I strongly suspect it's a reference to an original part added in the Ganso SD Gundam HWS Nu Gundam - which makes me want that even more. And yes, the two rifles there really caught my eye too, that's just insane to have..

Well missed one by 2 weeks again :p but none the less great review as always, Definitely going to pick one up if it is available where I live along with that HWS Set, I look forward on more 3rd party reviews I'm currently working on the Super Nova MG Wing Zero Snow White Prelude and it's a bit of a surprise since it has new parts that are fully unique and uses the Slightly updated inner frame from the Proto Wing Zero where it has the ball joints in the legs replaces with pegs
The people who disagree with me are really quite tame and nice compared with the stuff I see elsewhere really, so I'm really lucky already. But people really seem to have a thing against me saying the size of RG kits aren't 1/144... It's really odd
I love both versions of the hyper bazooka launcher! Cause it triggers that dumb part of my head that goes. "Heheh~ Big gun goes shoot shoot bang~" It's why I've been trying to get the HGUC Hyaku Shiki launcher for my revive, but haven't been getting the best luck there on finding one. Also, I didn't know folks were pissed at your RG Nu video, I thought it was liked cause it had a different take. Glad you're sticking it to them with the launcher! While also giving us a nice review.
Yeah, people seem to have gotten the impression that I was trying to say the extra height of the Hi-Nu makes it bad, which is not what I meant. It just makes it not 1/144, which is an objective fact... I'm in the same boat as you, I got that HGUC Hyakushiki precisely for the launcher some years ago. Haven't used it in any builds yet though since I only have that one... It's hard not to love ridiculous giant guns. Sigmund Freud approves.
I was waiting for a more detail review before jumping in to get this add-on. Well done on it xD. Also I have and built the HWS transporter set and it's great. Pretty much the P-Bandai set but you get an extra hyper beam rifle. Highly recommended 👍
I've been keeping my eye out for it ever since putting out this video. The crazy thing has two of that HWS beam rifle... If I find it, I'll get an RG Nu just for it
@@HobbyClubhouse ya that was the main reason why I pick that armor upgrade set instead of the one from Susan Model. That one can also form into an armor transporter but the Mega Cannon is too short for my liking. XD
The effect wings is a great third party company that is actually good but there plastic quality is different than bandai. But its a great budget saver since i have the regular qan [T] and i would like to hear your thoughts about the effect wings qan [T] full saber add on which is really good
So cool! Did not knew this 3rd party gun existed. I really prefer that design to the regular/official RG cannon. That sleeker and elongated design gives it more dynamism. So i'm glad this exists. And there's another quality to it : the RG Hi nu can hold the gun without using a stand. Wich it can't while using the official one. Oh, and btw, the alernate faces for the RG Nu are a very nice addition. The more rounded face on the RG Nu is the only thing I dislike about it, makes it look like a baby Nu Gundam.
I remember a lot of fans scratching their heads when the RG launcher was shown and they were expecting to see this gun. The long face is making me want to get an RG Nu actually:)
@@HobbyClubhouse I get Bandai wanting to redesign the bazooka, as they redesigned the Hi Nu. But the new bazooka is just to much, to different. But regardless, it still fits the RG Hi Nu, but I prefer the "older" design. And you should get the RG Nu, it's a great kit, and now, the face armor is not a problem anymore. If I dont get that bootleg cannon, I'm planning on buying the futur Entry Grade Nu and swap the face plates.
I have the hws transport. I’m really impressed. Especially for roughly $25. It came with water slides and I flat coated it. I’ll definitely pick this gun up to attach to it
I'm personally a really big RG guy - I own a lot of 'em and generally see them as my favourite grade. However... even so, I honestly can't wrap my head around the people who see everything like the new face parts or the fact this doesn't follow the new RG design as some sort of sin. Though yet again, opinions on the internet, what can ya do...- Great video as always! :D
Yeah... especially when there are lots of fans like me who aren't saying the RG's new face is UGLY, because it's quite handsome, but that it's just not what some of us prefer. Kinda sad when I see those opinions get mobbed by people who insist RG designs are different for a reason (which is valid but not really relevant...) That long face for the Nu is really clawing at me and demanding I get an RG Nu now...
...I'll just sand down those handles and give it to another kit (if I ever manage to get it first). Edit: I got one and it looks amazing. A few pieces had some flashing but it was barely noticeable, even if you look upclose. I had to sand down the handles to use it with an HG kit, it works as it should. The kit still includes the bonus Nu Gundam face parts, so that's great.
Honestly I wanted to buy this kit solely for the Nu face plate, but after seeing that the gun isn't actually something cheap like some HG bootleg kits I think I'll enjoy building and posing this with my RG Nu Gundam
I expected the gun to be badly engineered or at least annoying in one way or another but it surprised me by being so well-made. Hope you've gotten a set for yourself since the comment
@@HobbyClubhouse hell yes my man I bought one for my RG Nu, the whole black and white instruction sheet was annoying but then I kinda just had a feel for the gun myself and kinda made my own version with what colors the 3 runners offered lol

My guess is it won't, because I saw a photo of the Metal Robot Damashii one next to the RG and the MRD is quite a bit smaller. Glad you enjoyed the review:)
just preordered this bazooka 2months ago already, waiting for it to reach my country. the moment i quickly paid it is for the RG Nu gundam face. I can't stand on the short face of the RG Nu, this is the salvation i want for my RG Nu and getting my RG Hi Nu has good competitive size along with my HG Nightingale on the shelf.
That classic Nu face is really making me want to pick up an RG Nu, especially now that they're back in stock in stores here... Also, very glad to finally see a fan who specifically wants this face!

That combined weapon shield booster thing gives out so much AoZ energy, i want one yesterday already! All in all, Surprised with the goodies (and the quality) this add-on gives, guess i'll try hunting one down. Though i prefer nu's color than the supposed hi-nu one (me also on a playthrough of SRW30 is in no way influenced this) Heck, i think it'll still came before my Hi-Nu order could be fulfilled ha.
Definitely get one right now while it's easy to find online. Your case proves why Effect Wings was right to make two versions. The guys there really went out of their way to make things we fans want
The P-Bandai one also looks surprisingly good with the RG Nu Gundam too from the few photos I've seen of them paired together. If I had that gun, I'd display it with the RG Nu
This gun is quite easy to get from online retailers at the moment. The Hi-Nu seems reasonably stocked. Go get a pair and give them a home on your display shelf:)
Awesome! I like design hyper cannon. I wonder i can see more third party kit. I like bandai but sometimes it hit or miss. I love to see more third party. I can recommend like Dragon Momoko, or Effectwings.
Dragon Momoko kits have become quite hard to find here in Hong Kong surprisingly because there aren't new ones being manufactured anymore. I definitely want to review third-party kits, as long as I happen upon them anyway... stores here don't often stock them

I don't have the MRD Hi-Nu, but photos I've seen since this video shows the MRD one to be quite a bit smaller, so my guess is it probably can't hold the gun
Why can't they make one for 1/100 too :( It looks so nice with the rg, they could totally make one for the 1/100 too since I doubt Bandai would ever consider releasing one.
I imagine they could do that if they wanted to by scaling up the 3D models they used in making this one. Chinese third-parties have done similar things before, enlarging resin kits and such ...dunno if Effect Wings would actually do it though
The absolute quality of this stuff makes me think it was made by modelers, for modelers. All the little accommodations that a mega corporation like Bandai would skimp on and never think twice about... well, it certainly gives me a little hope for third party Gundam stuff.
I do think the makers of this cannon really are model fans themselves. Like you said, you can see the sort of things they found important that they put into the kit. This is the good kind of gray-market kit versus the clone makers
The cable is meant to go into the ship to draw power, so the plug for the action base is probably just a loose representation of that. I think it can be unplugged and work without the cable too (but details for the HiNu is always very messy)
When I got it, I expected it would be quite sloppy because I bought their Avalanche Exia kit before, but this kit is made so professionally, it's hard not to love it
The sculpt is very dazzling, though it's not very "Batman"... It's kinda cheating because it's basically a robot - or maybe Batman Infinitism Ver. It seems very well made and very odd at the same time
There's actually quite a few, though many have been kept as backlog for release later. Videos like the Zaku I are stuff I pull out of my existing stuff:)
i might pick this one up over the p bandai one. the other one is just awkward to hold, to big, and to expensive (the fucking thing cost as much as the entire kit)
@@HobbyClubhouse My only real problem with Third Party add-ons is that there are next to no HG compatible ones out there, it's borderline infuriating at times. Oh, and the fact that the kits in general are just a bitch to actually find in the first place! (At least for me anyway.)
I don't even think I've seen third-party mods for HG kits at all. The few 1/144 things are always for RG, but it's mostly just MG mod parts And yes, even in Hong Kong, they can be next to impossible to find if you don't happen upon them
@@HobbyClubhouse The lack of HG use parts really gets to me because there are tons of kits that Bandai has made in seriously small numbers (The Red Frames Caletvalch and QAN-T Full Saber being prime examples) that I would love for these 3rd parties to take a smack at, if only so there were (relatively) easier options available.
@@MasterSwo actually, Mswo, there was i had two. Hg Caletvwlch from Joker (which somehow has no brand on box) and RG Full Saber from Effectwings. I try both and it's ok. Joker Caletvwlch had same design but different assembly. RG Full Saber is same like HG ver., but it has backpack RG. Both are great, but if you can get official rare HobbyJapan kit, they are way better than Third Party. HG Compatibility.
This makes me think of the arguments online with people staunchly against even original molds like this gun as long as it's not a legit licensed product
