You know, I've read many isekai manga and light novels and I've come to really appreciate Harold. He doesn't care about growing strong to get a harem or being op. He just wants to survive his death and he does it smartly. I'm going to come out and say in my opinion, he's the best isekai protagonist I've seen.
Yeah. And I also like the fact that this world actively tries to autocorrect the future even if he changes it. This gives a real sense of threat to the protagonist since it's not something he can just power through.
I mean he does but at the same time he has to try to maintain the story afloat. That's what makes it interesting because it's a force acting against him doing what he wants which would be less interesting if it was just that.
Not the best I think, but agree he is one of the better ones. I like the protagonist from "The Reincarnated Assassin is a Genius Swordsman" more than this one.
@@RaeontheLeft It's fine if he is overpowered as long as the focus is on him being smart. Especially since he knows that, for all of his strength, he's doomed unless he is clever enough to change his fate.
This is kinda silly because if the person who reincarnated has very little input on the person he reincarnated as, than this isn't an isekai story. It is more like a ride you take at Disney Land. You are just along for the ride as you see everything playing out. It is like an interactive movie more than a reincarnation...
This is the first recap in years that I haven't had to watch in 2x speed. The tempo and voice were pleasant. If this is the norm you're definitely getting a sub.
There was a scene where Cody groups talked about how Harold actually response to them instead of totally ignoring them which in return help the group know that he actually is not the cold person he truly is. It's a small scene but it show that people in this world can understand him and will still be his friend even if his mouth push them away his action can still be understood And that's the reason why they were brave enough to joke with him and ask him to teach them
Yes, I can recall this scene too, he’s pretty much judged for his actions instead of his words, i might say that it is a bit of a stretch sometimes but overall I think its a very good read. I just hope that more chapters arrive/translate soon.
I was wondering if you were going to re-upload this story again or not? since you had to take it down on your second channel but thank you for re-uploading it again though ActionToon and Editor-kun, you guys rock. 🙂👍
This manga bothers me because it runs into the same problem as Ainz in Overlord. The person doesn't have actual control over their mind meaning they don't have to do the difficult task of pretending to be someone they're not. I'd like to see a smart MC that has to actually pretend to be a character they despise to survive with the added layer of using schemes in the background to get the "good guy" results. Surviving the Game as a Barbarian did this really well
Have you heard of the greatest estate developer, its kinda like this mc is reborn into a fictional setting, and is destined to die literally uses his wits to survive and change his fate. Though unlike this one he is in full control of his words and actions.
I need to figure out the name of one I read earlier. Basically the protagonist gets placed in the body of an academy student right after that student gets caught trying to frame the hero for something. Basically the first minor villain of the game. What's interesting is that he doesn't even try to imitate the original personality. He behaves politely and uses his real personality, but offers neither excuses nor an apology for the actions that led to his infamy. People notice the flip and draw their own conclusions, but only one of them suspects that the cause of his personality change is due to possession, because she's a spirit mage and can sense that something is a bit dissonant about him. The rest of them are merely puzzled, because mind control and possession aren't really types of magic that anybody has heard of. Unlike this protagonist, he's not overpowered at all. His whole thing is trying to maneuver the hero and the other characters with actual overpowered abilities into position so that he can keep the story on track. Especially because the game's plot is brutally difficult to beat.
Read Rental Hero.... The premise - In a world of superheroes and villains, our mc who has the power to copy anyones appearance works as a rental hero that works as a stand-in for other heroes.. one day he gets a req for stand in from the World's strongest hero... But when he reaches his residence, he discovers that the rank no.1 hero has been killed and if he doesn't want to be accused of his murder... He has to pretend to be the no.1 hero while trying to solve the mystery behind his murder...
The forced dialogue symptom is something that bothered me a lot more in a similar manwha where it made them "edgelord stoic" but it still is such a pain here. You can see with the female interactions here there is a lot of bias that they like him despite, not because of his actions.
While I enjoy the freshness of the protagonist the bothersome part thus far is that he cannot control his words and therefore he is somewhat engagement locked with each new interaction and it’s kind of limiting.
mc Story make no sense, so he reborn as some aristocrat family.. save maid and daughter pretend to be asshole, join knight order save people again, than on part 2 his a solo adventure.. seem in adulthood, like wtf is going on?
I've read this before but its much more interesting when someone is narrating it for me (Probably because i don't have to read tons of words and letters)
its a bit annoying how everyone is so focued on the mc killing a servant and her daughter... As if, in that time, disrespect towards nobles didnt automatically mean execution...
What they go on about is that she's a "half breed," so these guys are just Nazis looking for excuses to murder innocent people. I hate Nazis and so should you.
