When boarding the plane, the flight crew gets a powered up running aircraft. Not cold and dark. Loved the video.

Another way to make the QW787 cold and dark automatically is to go to the QW787.cfg in the QW folder in P3D folder, and then remove the // from //panelstate=coldanddark.pnl If you know a thing or two about Java programming you would know that // is a comment to your code, so in other words the text behind the //does not have any meaning. But if you remove the // it will become a coded command to start the plane in a cold and dark state by default.

Me too. I do not know how to improve the reflections on it. Also when you are a bit far away from the screens I cannot see well the numbers and all the information on the screens. Anyone who knows how to solve this?

One more thing.....I am stunned because I cannot believe how qwsim can make those pfd displays look like real life u know when the sun is hitting they glare in the cockpit.....it looks as if we r flying a real plane....it was not like this in sp2 but it is in sp3.....I use qw787 with the latest sp3 and I will put it in 2nd place at my best aircaft addons list according to me.....bcoz there is another simulation which is also detailed but frame rates are the best! The hint is it is not pmdg...so I am sure guys know what I am talking about🙂🙂

Hi Hugo - this is a great vid series as I'm just starting to fly this bird myself. I cannot figure out step climbs, I think you forgot to go through that part. Do you set the steps as altitude constraints on your legs page (as per Simbrief)? I'm coming from PMDG where it requires little to no input for step climbs to work...thanks!

U can default it to cold and dark when loading the flight by going to the folder like u know msfs or p3d/ qualitywings/QW787/panelstates something like that....I do not remember exactly but I will tell it to u asap.

Find the panel state for the cold and dark add copy the NAME of the file and then In the QW787.cfg, add panelstate= ‘the name of the file’. That should be all. The file should be coldanddark.pnl

Nice tutorial. Considering the amount I paid for this aircraft Still disappointed in it at the moment. With lnav/vnav. And auto throttle during climb. It does not stop at set altitude say 38000ft it keeps climbing to 45000 no Step climbs enabled then using flch wont descend Have you experienced this in v5 with 1.3? I’ve gone on their forums but no answer yet Thanks

Don't know how it is in the Boeing but in the a320 it's quite common that we connect the ext power first

Nice vid. If you would like to know how real crews setup a real 787 let me know. In comparison to reality you missed over half of the preflight setup but still did a good job. Boeing and Airbus rely on flows not checklists so in short duties are split between Capt and FO and PF and PM. For instance you mussed the entire MCP setup plus center console etc. highly recommend the 787 flow trainer if you really want toknow how to setup a real 787. Real world 787 pilots never do cold and dark starts..ever. Engineers are responsible for a very long setup if an aircraft is depowered which is very rare. Anyway good work and read some more learning and aviation go hand in hand.
