I just started my build of this. So far its been very enjoyable. Parts and PE go together very well. Excellent rendering of all the parts from what I can see. Watch out when attaching the hull, there is a ridge at the base of the one side hatch that needs to be removed so it can connect properly. Also the tow hooks are so fine that I broke one when cutting from the sprue. One of the decal options is my old regiment, Grey and Simcoe Foresters so I had to get this gem. Too bad they disbanded the regiment in England in Nov 43. Its going to be a quick easy build.
This looks like its going to be a good build I think they used the ram as armoured personnel carriers in the late stages of the war and maybe search light carriers when crossing the Rhine but as always with me that might be totally wrong ! Regards Gav.
Yup that’s sounds about right Gavin. I know other countries did use them, but I have yet to investigate further? To bad their aren’t to many physical examples today..... I do know they eventually took off the turret and called these Kangaroos and used em.... Thanks for sharing some facts. Not only do we build models we learn history as we go. 😁
Nice Review! Looks like a decent kit, of an unusual vehicle. Tamiya seems to have gone the way of Tasca/Asuka on some features of their latest Sherman Easy eight kits when assembling the lower hull. Looking forward to a build video.😃👍👍
Thank you BRAVO. The kit does look and feel nice. If you are into LEE's & SHERMAN's than this would fit in the collection nicely. Thank you for the support. Looking forward to your input.
@@inclusivemodeldesigns16 you may also want to consider another brand of aftermarket tracks, by a company called Panda Plastics. They make great Sherman tracks that are somewhat workable and easy to put together. They produce several different variants and also have the duck bill extensions, that you can buy separately.
This is a great build except for the tracks. In my 35 years of model building, I have yet to see anything as frustrating as the track assembly. While I am use to assembling individual tracks, these tracks totally detract from the model building experience. I am currently trying to mesh them with the drive wheel. Bronco needs to really give some thought to what is challenging, and what is plain tedious and frustrating. Great kit, terrible engineering. I will not buying Bronco again.
For more info go see that web site milart.blog/2014/10/16/the-ram-kangaroo-armoured-personnel-carrier-part-1/. If you want to do a diorama, remove the turret and go see the web site and you can fix that tank to be a Kangaroo carrier. That it what it was use for during the war and as a OP tank to!
