I really like these kits some of the nicest boat kits out there to build. I’m building my ship now for 5 months this ship it is really hard. Going blind with all the acid etched brass parts to create and thinning out plastic parts that look to thick and heavy. But I’m a maniac scale freak. Made my own cannon barrels out of brass tubes. With tissue paper for the canvas boots. Also made the props out of brass round stock. Really wish I knew who to ask for details like wire rigging and all the different flags used? I know of a couple of missing steam pipes that could be added to help.
Just started a 1/700 Prince of Wales battleship. First time doing a ship this small and the first time using photo etch outside of 1/48 airplanes. I feel I might go blind if I keep this up.
I started back in 1965 my eyes are toast. All it takes is time and patience and study the plans and parts a lot before you glue anything together. If you need to clean and work or detail parts who cares if you spend a week working on one part. I could slap together the boat in a day or two no paint or cleaned up parts or I could spend half a year and really do it right. This is my mental break from reality, I can just space out and build for hours have fun.

0506Koutarou you misunderstand, the model is above my expectations! Way better than what I could probably do. I apologize if I have offened you. I just hope that when ever I built my 1/700 IJN Heavy Cruiser Atago from the anime Arpeggio of Blue Steel that it comes out as nice as your models. I will try to use PE and rigging and hope I don't ruin the model. I am looking forward to your next build that you mentioned and be inspired!😊
I used thin thread and some watered down white glue for mine came out pretty good. Just takes a lot of patience and planing how and what to use and when to paint before you glue stuff on. I wish I could figure out they build these so fast it takes me 6-9 months. My eyes are shot these days 1/350 scale is small I can’t imagine building the 1/700 scale boats anymore my. Your work is top notch always learn something new that I never tried before.
