This kit was designed and tooled by Revell Germany. The boxing shown here was for the North American market. Here in Europe, we received the RG boxing, though this boxing is seen here in Britain, too. Academy presently box this kit, but this tooling does not originate from them. Either way, if one wants a 1/48 Ventura, this is an excellent start as it is a very good kit. The only known issues are undersized propeller diameters. This easily resolved with after market, courtesy of True Details and Loon Models. Nice build, by the way. 👍
The Ventura versions from Revell are my favorite ,if you buy some aftermarket and do some scratch build details that model is amazing and for the time is made quality and the way it goes together especially around the wing area is better than kits been produce today !
The crew that found the survivors of the USS Indianapolis were in Ventura. The Plane Commander was in the back of the plane, trying to free up the long trailing antenna. He was looking down as they over one of the groups of rafts.
This is actually a Academy kit reboxed by revell. Revell is known for reboxing other companies like ICM, Academy, and a couple others. It usually says something on the box side. The good thing about these is that they tend to be cheaper than those from the actual companies that made them.
I think I’m first 😊… I’m enjoying your channel… Don’t think this is a MONOGRAM / REVELL kit BUT, who cares… This is a nice looking AIRCRAFT and KIT…. I’m an old ( DOG ), built plenty of the old kits… And still do… Funny, I’m still learning how to build my kits better… TAKE YOUR TIME, ENJOY WHAT YOUR DOING………… try some OTAKI , NICHIMO FUJIME kits….
