Very nice model! My grandpa’s brother was a crew member on one of these during WWII and ended up dying after their plane crashed in the Atlantic Ocean. I may have to pick one of these up as a tribute to him. Keep the videos coming! They have inspired me to get back into model building.

There used to be a bunch of Venturas that were converted to fire-ant bombers in Bainbridge GA in the 70s. I climbed all over those things and even got in the cockpit as a teenager. You were blind as a bat on taxi. Nice work.

The Attention To Detail Midblowing

Much better than I used to manage when I was a kid. All I seemed to get was big long strands of glue, bits that didn’t fit, bits missing, lumpy or streaky paint and transfers that curled up and couldn’t be opened for love nor money. On top of that when it was finally done, my mum came in my room to dust and knocked the model on the floor. Anyway, great job. Subscribed.

I could never in a million years get close to the skill shown in this video, but I always heat and (slightly) flatten the tyres to simulate the 'weight 'of a parked aircraft.

An Inspirational Build! Loving the Hataka Paints!

A most amazing model and build. Thanks. There is only one small critisism which you can take with a pinch of salt but when it comes to the rubber on the tyres, to make them look like they have the weight of an aeroplane on them on not perfectly round and sitting proud, I used to put them gently on a heated steel ruler. This slightly flattened the bottom surface and resulted in the plastic bulging slightly which adds to the overal realism of the aircraft sitting on, what look like real rubber tyres. This really is a great kit. Fits like a dream. I only did a little shaping around the rear edge of the cowl flaps (front edge of the nacelle actually) so there was a break and the flaps didn't just continue unbroken into the nacelle. There's a resin kit that does a better job but I didn't get it. The only thing that lets this kit down is the lack of an interior. If the rear door was open you could see quite a bit if it was there. (That's why I love Monogram bombers of the late seventies. Lots of stuff to paint in there! You may never see much of it again, but you know it's there!) The weathered finish on yours turned out great! I like the patches of paint peeled away revealing the primer underneath. Also the Ventura looks great in the tri-color scheme. I have my fingers crossed that someone does a P2V Harpoon in 1/48 to go with this kit!

Beautiful model

You can't beat RG for detail and price. I've got their 1/32nd 190 and 190 NF in my stash, cheaper than 1 P-47 by Hase plus I can buy paint with the spare change. Excellent all around, assembly, painting, and weathering. Kudos for wearing safety equipment,{respirator} always a good thing for the younger modelers too see.

A very nice job there. A simple point. Standard 3 color US Navy paintjob ( Gloss Sea Blue, Intermediate Blue and White) called for gloss sea blue on all upper surfaces, including the tops of the wings and fuselage, including the tailplanes. Do you have a reference for the intermediate blue upper wings a tailplane? Was it a repainted bluegrey and light grey plane? The Revell kit does have 1 obvious error for Ventura lovers to spot: the Revell research was based on a restored Ventura which used standard Propellors off an RB-34, the US Army Bomber, not the slightly longer, fatter Paddle-Bladed PV-1 props. There is also a small shape error on the lower nose, but that is less obvious unless you know what to look for. The RAF version was an RB-34 with a Boulton_paul turret. One of each is in my stash awaiting my attention, along with resin fixes.

Great job. One error, the maker decals applied to the prop blades usually are long axis of the oval witht he long axis of the blade.

Nice Ventura. One small nitpick. The Hamilton Standard (prop decals) should be rotated 90 degrees.
