I built a 1/72 Ventura with markings from the VB-144 plane dad flew off Roi-Namur in 1944 and surprised him with it about 30 years ago.

AlexModeling tive o mesmo problema com um Sea Vixen (Airfix 1/48) o decalque(Cartograph) em sua parte transparente ficou branco. Já pensei em remover e pintar novamente, mas é frustrante após um mês de trabalho ter este tipo de problema. Abraços.

International British Modeler Hello Martin! this was not my best but i had dun on it and thats the important.. the Kit is fabulous you would just love it and i can t remember the price but i know it was affordable... for a modeler like you i believe it would be a tremendous build! For video editing i use Adobe Premiere CC 2017 (I pay it monthly 24.99 i think) sometimes i regret it.. but others like now... don t:) do t miss understand me... its a fabulous sofrware and way superiir to what i know but sometimes... well... i wish i just bought a software and period... but its good like this... Thanks and i hope you are ok

Alex, great video, but as for the glazing, there is another technique I tried. To make a mask on himself canopy cover, fitting into place at the last moment, if carefully get incredible

I almost couldn't believe you were using a toothpick to paint with. I've been doing that since I was a teenager back in the early 60's. I didn't have anything else to use because there weren't any hobby shops. I was delighted to see you brush painting. Don't see much of that anymore. Have you ever considered making this an USAAF, the B-34 Lexington. Except for some having fewer windows there isn't any external differences. The British also used the B - 34.

rene stofregen no problem... i use sometimes a very very thin aplication of vaseline but there is a very acessible lube on ebay... search for it and you will find... also thare are some great modelers that manufactures they r own... i sugest you start by searching here on youtube... tell me if you can find and don t worry ASAP will answer... :)

Nice build! For crying out loud why does Revell STILL put the copy write info, year released and the country of origin ON THE OUTSIDE as shown at 11:40!?? That is SO archaic and yesteryear! Revell, please do us a favor and STOP doing that! This is 2017, not 1957. Put it on the inside where it can't be seen!

Hey! Great video. Thanks for sharing. I'm not a modeler, but researching family history. My uncle was a tail gunner on a PV-1 and shot down by a German sub near VA. It's great to see a detail model up close and get a better idea what it looked like. (Btw, are you a Portagee too?)

Just watching this makes you realise what a punch these Ventura’s packed. Great example of pre-shading at work, you keep your layers light, I find I always obliterate mine and end up post shading - mainly because I use the hairy-stick! I have bought myself a cheap, cheap airbrush (one that Nuno de Costa did a vlog on) so having seen this I’ll be experimenting using your vlog as a guide. What a week, and I like the Ventura, great wee kit thank you Alex - what’s next?

And about those cheap AB... despite that i was given an Neo Iwata i used 2 years cheap ABs and i can tell you... its the hand and not the AB:).. you will do fine.. important... clean it always or else wont last long

It doesn’t matter in this hobby how good anyone is although I know a few who think it is but that’s besides the point. I’m building the old Monogram 1/72 EF-111 Raven right now and just having fun with it. It’s not my best work but like you, it doesn’t have to be. I don’t like being serious about my build anymore apart the Strikemasters I’ve done but they weren’t for me so they had to be a bit more precise. Keep up the good work.

I´ve just finishing my F4U 1/48 from Revell. I have a problem. After my Vallejo Air colours I´ve airbrushed a layer of gloss varnish (Vallejo), which i mixed with Vallejo Thinner. On some areas the gloss-varnish peals of like skin after a sunburn. Can anybody be so kind to tell me where is the reason for my problem?

Did you waited a few hours before applying the varnish? Paints even if the same range need to be cured, also, did you used a high pressure? Have you applyed an oil wash and if so, are you sure it was completly dried? Asking questions trying to help! I hope you can go through this

How did you manage to use Humbrol Decal fox without it melting the Tamiya paint off? Every time I use it with Tamiya paints, it just brings the paint off.

+X_SniperSpectrum before applying the decalfix, first give it a coat or 2 of a clear gloss varnish... let it dry and Then apply the decals... what yhe varnish does is to protect te paint underneath and to make a smooth shinny surface... protects and stops the silvering efects from the decals... and when you finish decaling and they re dry give another coat of clear varnish

+X_SniperSpectrum If you do and lwt the clear Varnish dry and cure you will have the paint protected and after aplying the decals and again aplying the clear varnish gou will have a glass like surface to apply washes

Jorge, No the Harpoon was a newer model, the PV-2, the harpoon had bigger fins & rudders, more power and a different wing as well to combat the PV-1's not so great single engine reputation

Александр Буторин I have several but didn t made any at the moment... i read that this kit had the wrong propellers.. if i used a more short version of the B 17 they would be the correct ones
