OHHHHH, Your killing me!....You beat me to the finish line..lol. Tank is looking great. Its always a good feeling looking back at all that hard work and seeing the final product. Part 18....hours away...here comes my eye candy!
Being an African cichlid fan, it would be awesome if you could add in different species of tanganyikan fishes in there but i know it's not gonna happen. Maybe you could consider having some tangs in one of your tanks to add variety to your fish collection.
Wow You killed it Mike! Awsome man. That pump and filter is a beast, which is perfect for your heavy fish load remember they're going to get huge in that much water volume🤔 Its great to over filter than under,so I think it's perfect and these fish love current. 👍🐕🐟🐟
Oddly I just did exactly the same, took so much time and effort gluing all the connections I forgot to hand tighten the union on the ball valve. Cple days later I came home to at least a minor leak still cant believe i did that, freaked me out when I found the puddle of water though 😬
So I want to learn to professional make acrylic/glass aquariums from scratch but dont have a clue.is there a book, class or sometype of website that can teach me this???
I would love to have a tank like this but I prefer to have my level that way I can watch it. And I plan on building one in my garage and then when I'm going to do is have my filtration outside so any kind of noise will ask to be outside. But I build a box around my filtration system that way my neighbors don't have to be bothered by the noise if there is any. But the tank design I like. Now I just need to find some plans that are similar to that that I can use. Unless you have plans on paper can I could use. And I'm debating on whether using 4 by 8 sheets of plywood or the contractor size 4y 10
Hello. I have a question about your stingray. I think you have a young stingray in a 20 gallon grow out. I just found a motoro and I also have it in a twenty gallon grow out for like a week until I upgrade the tank size. How sensitive are they really. My ammonia got to .25 in like a day so I did a water change. Am I being paranoid? I’m also checking ph , so when I add new water during a water change the ph is close to the tank ph. Any advice would be appreciated on how sensitive these guys really are. Thanks.
what is the gallons per hour on that pump sorry if you already answered that bro. I love your fish and tanks I just setup a 750 gallon pond but im studying to build a big tank like you! I'm just trying to make sure I know enough lol
Its a Reeflo Mantaray 5200gph. Its what is recommended for this size bead filter. I have a jebao thats rated for the same gph but it doesn't have anything close to the same amount of pressure as this
I finally got my hands on a 155gl bow tank, and I’m thinking hell yeah, a 6’ tank is huge. My man here is wrapping up his 1500 that he built himself 🤯. Awesome channel bro, one of my favs! How do you manage all the water required for your water changes? Do you just feed untempered water, feed off your water heater, or do you have a holding tank. I’m interested in knowing how you guys do this when you have so many tanks. Thanks
I have a carbon filter on my house to remove most of the chlorine and chloramines. I fill the tanks directly. I did a video on waterchanges if u you want to check it out. Its a bit outdated but same general concept still
U change the pump to a jebao 20k or an ecotech L1. That would be plenty of power for the ultima and be super quiet pump just make sure esp with the jebao that u the same size intake and return sized pvc so u dont lose head pressure.
I have a jebao 20k that I planned to use for this but its not powerful enough. The ultima creates 10' of head height alone. Not counting actual head height and plumbing restrictions. This is what they recommend and its double the price of the jebao for a reason. Its an industrial pump. Trust me the jebao is half the size too id much prefer run that
Hey Mike the tank is looking great. What is the pump you are using? In my 1000gal I built I use a anjon monsoon 3000gph pond pump. It is super quiet, pricey but I feel it's worth it. I have 15 koi 9" to 20" and about 100 2" to 5" goldfish in it and my filter is a 5 gallon DIY gravel canister with a filter sock on the return when needed.
The pump is a reeflo mantaray 5200. Its recommended for this size ultima. At 10' of head height its perfect gph for the bead filter. Itll take some work but ill find a way to quiet it down
@@OffTheDeepEndAquatics I use a 5300 gph SUNSUN pump in my patio pond outside in the summer it is also silent. It worked well for 3 years now and is about $120.00 on ebay.
