In the bay area and had the meatiest of food days. Starting with Roli Roti a food truck by Thomas Odermatt, a third-generation Swiss butcher. Where I had the most incredible juice-filled meat sandwich. Then to half moon bay for one of the BEST BBQs at Breakwater BBQ.

This truck is located a block away from my office. Roli Roti is at the Ferry Building every Thursday and Saturday. Mike is not exaggerating when he says this sandwich is good. This might be the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I used to eat the sandwich once a week, then pandemic hit.

Ok we watch this channel anytime Mike has a new one. We have went to a few restaurants in the Bay Area that he’s recommended. So we decided to go to the BBQ place in half moon, um I don’t know if they are just trying to live off of this visit, but it was some of the worst bbq I have ever had. The brisket was blan along with the ribs the pulled pork was dry I reminded me of meat chew I use to eat as a kid thinking I was a baseball player chewing chew. Though the Baja fish taco was great for Northern California so was the hot link and the sides where all good, but the bbq sucked. I would recommend 152 in gilroy or if you are in San Diego grand ole bbq, coops bbq, valley market in casa de oro. All these are way way better.

If you’re standing on market and first st facing the ferry building( you can’t miss it…. It’s the clock) it’s directly to the right, it’s a mobile food truck but they’re always there especially on the weekends. I work on the pier directly to the left of the ferry building and always wanted to try the porchetta sandwich, but this just puts me over the edge. Thank you mike!!

Yeah, Half Moon Bay is one of my all-time favorite places in California. It's the epitome of laid back beach towns and when I was there, the people were the nicest you could find. I live much further north now but if I ever get a chance to go back, I'm stopping at that BBQ joint!

Why do you not share prices anymore? In the current economic climate, prices are extremely important to the average traveller. I suppose I could check the prices online. But lots of places like the Japanese ones don't have websites or social media.

Gaw Dang! that pancetta looks good. The bbq chicken too. But I imagine you'd hafta make two visits to sample each meat on it's own. You can't buy a half chicken, just to eat the wing, oyster and neck. That giant tray of BBQ needs 2 or 3 people to share with. That with a couple of pitchers of beer.

Omg, these places do serve ridiculously good BBQ - the Secret Place(Half-Moon Bay) is not a secret anymore. The brisket looked perfect and I want some of those spicy pickles!! And who doesn't love a great Taco - meat or fish!!!
