1: this is a training technique that the Army does already, multiple fights back to back. 2: competitive BJJ is different from military unarmed self defense differs in aggressiveness in that our job is to finish the fight as fast as possible, often that means breaking contact to gain access to a secondary weapon. Finish the fight, submit or kill the opponent before they the same to us.

@soonerfrac4611
@soonerfrac4611 Год назад
Tell me where I’m wrong? A common training technique the Army uses is a bull in the ring type exercise: multiple bouts back to back. Fact is many schools teach this because it works. Next is that BJJ competitions are about points, same problem with competitive karate. Points goals have ruined modern karate because they pull punches. The reality is competitive BJJ is a game. For soldiers it’s for keeps.
@jamesalafayette8255
@jamesalafayette8255 Год назад
@@soonerfrac4611 “it’s for keeps”. You’re coming off as a tool. Soldiers have combatives tournaments too, also based on points. You can search for them on this very website. Plus you can’t name a single time where a Soldier had to use grappling to save his life. Stop coming off as a 19 year old POG.

I dont know what the gyms are like around you. But at Gracie gyms in the UK they start with GB1 for beginners that doesnt feature hard rolling, just specifics where you put techniques you've learnt into practice. GB1 will teach you a bit of fitness, self defence and fundamentals I highly recommend it! GB2 will intoduce more advanced techniques and rolling but you never have to roll if you're not comfortable or just explain to people you want to roll light and most people will roll at your pace. The majority of people I have met training BJJ have all been very nice, understanding and willing to help out. Hope you find something!

Dudes knee was forsure messed up the next day. Had the exact pop happen to me, was fine to continue an hour+ long open mat with absolutely zero issue… theeennn the next morning knee was stiff and unstable. Grade 1 LCL tear.
