In today’s video I teach my bjj white belt friend 1 important bjj concept to maximize progression! Follow me on Instagram: / jedi_himself #purplebelt #bjj #bjjwhitebelt
Tape on your knuckles to prevent warts? As a white belt, I had no idea this was a thing. A video over odd hygiene stuff in bjj would be dope for those of us who are new.
Thought you ment him loosing his belt looking all over for it then finding it in plain sight. Happens all the time for me. LOL. Now I see his t-shirt! in plain sight!! 😂😂😂
This is actually great advice. I’ve started bjj 8 months ago and that has been the best decision I’ve made. It can get overwhelming at times with the amount of information out there, but there are some general concepts that are great to understand as a white belt. Thank you!
As an absolute beginner, this video has been extremely helpful and encouraging. Mostly for the simple fact that you took the time to help someone learn.
I just started doing these warm ups and drilling in open mats before you posted this. This is awesome!! It solidifies how I’ve been feeling about strategically warming up as a white belt. Loved it
@@jedidoesjiujitsu3177 So as a purple belt now you can deal with pressure from gym bullies. How can we do that as a newer Jiu jitsu practitioner? Some guys just don’t make it easy to train smart
I recently found your channel and watched some of your videos, Great Content." I'm a new white belt and am trying to pick up things for my Jiu-Jitsu journey. Thanks and keep up the great work
This is awesome stuff. I started May 2022. I find myself getting side control a lot but don’t know how to attack from there. So all I have been doing is trying to work at staying on top, breathe and relax. I guess one day at a time. So far I am liking it and it gives me and my son something to do. I’m 42 and he is 10. So far lost 10lbs.
Just found this channel about a week ago. Awesome videos bro. Love the style, humour, commentary. These instructional videos are awesome as well, I've only been training a few months so they help alot.
Liked this video right away with the "beautiful folks that love to do chokes" 😆 really you are golden my guy, keep spreading the knowledge, humor, and positivity. Starting my first BJJ class this week!
Awesome content dude! You got yourself a sub! Started my jits journey just over a year ago and would love to reach blue belt in the next 12-18 months, I’m sure these videos will help me on my journey! All the best!
When your friends taps it's because you're doing a variation of Ude-Hishigi-Ude-Gatame, in bjj it's normally called a shotgun armbar. You grab their under-arm (like a shotgun), lock the hand, and then apply pressure to the elbow. Obviously it wasn't fully applied because apparently you did it by accident but I can see why he would think you were going for the sub 😄 Great technique if you aren't already using it! Also, love the channel you're doing great work!
New white belt subscriber from Australia. It's so hard starting off 3 months in and trying to remember what I've been shown is so frustrating. Thank you I'll keep trying. 👌
this is great dude.. i'm a white belt and due to covid i made a dojo out of one of my rooms.. ill definitely drill these thanks Jedi! may the chokes be with you
Cool videos man. Thanks allot! I tried bbj out like 4-5 years ago for 6 months, then I had to move. Unfortunatly, since I really enjoyed it! Now a new club is starting near to where I live. So at age 34,its finally bbj-time again 🙌 thanks again for all the work you are doing with the videos 👌
very good video to watch as a beginner white belt. I didn't like your channel before but I am now hooked because I left bjj and now going back in. Your videos help and please keep up the good work. For me, more videos how to improve and survive as a white belt at age 53. Thanks. B.
I've been watching your videos about 2 years now. A lot has helped. I'll skip the long explanation and just say for your breaking the frame from the top, I recently learned something from a new teacher called a "box choke." I struggle with proper technique on arm triangles so that's helped me a bit in terms of threatening a submission from an opponents guard if not getting one. But when I saw you break that frame (this time...the 200th time I've probably watched this, lol) it was the first thing that popped into my head was hearing this man screaming "box choke box choke box choke!!" from the edge of the mat.
I lost my blue belt too! Once I received my new belt from the mail, I found my old belt inside the side pocket of my gym bag. Lol. Nice vids Jedi! Much respect bro
🤼 won my state championship in white belt last weekend. Looking to take this journey and get into absolute and no gi styles as well. Good vids! Ultra ideas to hit the mat with
I've watched a few of your videos, but after seeing the Glory mma sticker, I think we might have rolled before. I trained at Glory (Lee's Summit) for 6 months while I was doing an extended internship in college, would have been 06/2018-12/2018, I was blue belt at that time. For anyone who reads this and is in the KC area, train at Glory, it's a great gym.
I’ll never understand people who give videos like these thumbs down. Had to be an accident. Lol. Cool videos. Thanks for sharing. Great welcoming chill vibe and looks like he’s great to train with. 👊🏾🥋
Good on you for helping your buddy out like this. Really practical things to work on that will translate really well into live rolling and that will greatly complement the stuff he’ll learn in class. 🙏
When starting to roll and you start in your knees, what do you do to prevent being pull into someone’s guard when the other person starts from a sitting position?
The best way to find something you lost is to buy a new one lol. I lost a Leatherman and couldn't find it for like 6 months. Ordered a new one, and 3 days after it came, I happened to move our recliner and found my old leatherman that had slide down like inside the back fabric panel that velcros to the bottom of the chair. It was between the cushions and that piece of fabric.
