Crystamanthequins sounds like a grungy, futuristic dystopia. Crystalmethequins sounds like someone went back in time to stop that dystopia from becoming a reality to begin with, and returned to a much brighter future.
but what if the brighter future actually was built on much worse things than the original grungy future? it'd be having to choose lots of genocide and millions dying for a good future (but with lots of screwed up stuff in the shadows anyway), or much less for a worse future?
I remember listening to this with headphones while filling out a test in high school. I was in the library, playing this very video on the computer while I worked and one of the teachers was doing paperwork next to me. Thing is, the headphones I was using were cheap pieces of shit, and I had the volume cranked up. Then 3:11 kicked in. I finished my test and looked up to see the teacher staring at me with a VERY concerned expression. From her point of view, she just watched a kid jam out to the sound of air-raid sirens. I graduated about 7 years ago at the time of this comment, but I'll never forget that!
I literally did the exact same thing, during a study period with my tutor, and I was a dumb kid, nowhere near smart enough to realize how fucking badly my 8 dollar headphones from big lots bled sound. She literally had me stop it to ask "what are you listening to" and when I said it was music she went "that's music???" I'm pretty sure alls he could hear was the hammer/anvil sound lmao
I imagine this song playing as Equius is building his robotic parts for Aradia and Vriska, the clang we hear is Equius forging the hot metal with a hammer. The techno-y parts are when he is working on the electronics and seeing them spark together and start working little by little.
This song reminds me a lot of how Homestuck first started. At first the song moves rather slow, but then the pace gradually picks up and the song becomes even better, similar to how slow Homestuck started, haha! c:
But people won't give Homestuck a chance because apparently it's always boring... *[spoilers] looks at Doc Scratch turning into Lord English, Aradiabot army, Kanaya turning into a rainbow drinker, Gamzee going sober, Tavros dying (I'm pretty sure that's the most harsh death in all of Homestuck, since Vriska mourned about it and died herself too)*
marvelousMonster There's also sirens going off and metal sounds that make it sound like you're in a slaughterhouse. This, too, is an accurate comparison to homestuck.
Told a friend that he should listen to some homestuck music that I could show him. He declined on the sole basis that he didn't want to listen to any 'shitty homestuck nonsense' So now my favorite thing to do is pepper bops like this into roadtrip playlists and watch him rot inside.
gamingLegacies Supposedly Perry Sullivan - Mannequin made a chip tune that was used for the final segment of the song [this should be it tindeck.com/listen/vfjx] So I guess it's a REMIX DOUBLE REACH AROUND.
For the longest time I avoided this song because the title made me uncomfortable. Then it came up in a playlist and I didn't notice that it was this song and so I started listening to it and I was like "OMG THIS SONG IS AMAZING" I checked the title And felt really dumb Because of the extreme levels of epicness contained within it I'm addicted to it now.
Great, I watch one Homestuck-related video and now my recommended videos feed is full of them. This guilty pleasure of mine is getting harder and harder to hide.
ok ok > Dave: Makes sure it's apple juice but fails to do so. Hold on... how do you make piss become apple juice in the first place? Why did you even try to do that? > Dave: Go back in time to the point when there was actually apple juice. > Dave: Drink the apple juice and take a piss in the bottle. > Dave: Put the cap back on and put it back where you got it from. > Dave: Go back to the present.
This song always makes me think of Dave and his denizen. Particularly, the clanking sounds like Hephaestus is banging a hammer (could possibly be Fear No Anvil?). Maybe smelting and creating Caledfwlch? And the sick beats are Dave doing his time shenaniganry. The heartbeats in the beginning belong to him as he descends further into the denizen's lair.
I come from Siivagunner which uploaded a mashup of this with a reggaeton called "Siéntate en Ese Deo" (translation: "Sit on that finger") Now I can't unhear that. The mix was so well done.
This was... the very first thing I heard from Homestuck. First I'd seen a small sketch of characters I don't remember that *mentioned* the word, 'Homestuck', however this is the first thing that I have more concrete memory of, and it's what drew me to be curious about it, ultimately. I saw the song on another artist's recommended song list, gave it a listen, loved it, and then continued to listen to it isolated of context for a few years. Then, I finally got really truly curious about where it came from, and gave Homestuck a read. Absolutely epic song to draw me into that comic :D
Oh my gosh, if this isnt the most nostalgic theme for me... I used to listen to this on loop every day back in middle school, and I haven't heard it in such a long time. So cool...
i wonder if any one has just stumble up on this song, no understanding of homestuck or anything. Then being immersed in the shear AWESOME that this song holds and just jammed out to it.
Whoa whoa whoa WHOA. Now, getting beaten to death by a time-traveling robot is one thing. But hoping she STEPS ON A *LEGO*?! Seriously dude, what is *wrong* with you?
adfqwed :33 < whiskers has done some pretty mean stuff. i think she deserves to step on a plastic geometrical building item. or legos as you humans call it.
I actually didn't know what the song was about until I watched someone play a part on the piano and there was a part of the flash in the corner and i was like "CRYSTALMANTHEQUINS IS "[S] Make Her Pay" 'S SOUNDTRACK??!!" and I just didn't stop listening after that.
In s make her pay, the song is 'crystAMANTHequins', _this_ is 'crystaLMETHequins'. they're both on the homestuck ost and sound super similar, but they're different songs, which is really confusing....
+angel rivera Crystalmanthequins is not even a remix. It's a mix. A mix of Crystalanthemums and mannequin, which wasn't ever released. I think the hole point is to make it even more confusing.
I know you're one of homestuck's elders from 9 years ago and you probably WONT answer but why out of all the tavros shots did you pick that one for your pfp
By far my favorite piece of music. Ever. This will never change being my favorite piece, other than Sburban Jungle, which is also pretty ARSUME. The music from Homestuck is so IMPOSSIBLY amazing, there's no words to describe it. All I have to say.
When someone makes a Homestuck reference somewhere: haha yeah homestuck!! :D When someone makes another reference on something from Homestuck: no, get the fuck out I am honestly ashamed of this fandom.
I had this stuck in my head and I was furiously trying to figure out the name, and when I did I just shouted "OH YEAH IT'S CRYSTAL METH" in front of my parents, with no context at all. They probably think I'm insane.
