Edit: There are currently 13 parts now as of 9/9/22 The full playlist w/ calamity useless as well: ru-vid.com/group/PLDvUlXfB7pJzIaOi7EO-VeyB6L0Dhi_W1 now that we hit one hour, i can make a compilation (note that this is not NEW content!!!!!) if you have already watched most of the series, you may disregard this video also, yes, i know the timer runs a bit fast (when I made it it was like a few frames off or smth) over one hour, it really has added up. pardon the few-second inaccuracies, can't really change it after 6 HOURS of rendering i didn't have the time to watch the entire hour for QC before uploading, so if there are a few issues let me know here. ty.
@@Terraw ayo about this. 32:18 It also displays fire effects when you swing it I might be wrong but the tizona does display fire effects and only inflicts the bleeding debuff.
Terraria gel is adhesive (sticky situation), flammable (tooltip for gel), edible (the tooltip states it’s tasty as well as flammable), digestive/acidic (nurse dialogue), sweet (pink gel tooltip, just desserts achievement), slippery (slippery shinobi achievement), bouncy in the form of pink gel, solid in the form of slime blocks, able to be molded in the form of slime blocks, frictionless when frozen, “jiggly” (Just Desserts description), slimy (Slippery Shinobi description), and usually translucent. When still on the slime it’s also able to combine with itself, act as a sharp stinger-like appendage, act as a tumor-like growth on the host slime, grow wings from itself, split innumerable times, emit light without being burned, withstand severe temperatures, spawn lava, and change colors (rainbow slime). Not to mention as an item gel can also cause you to spawn the bouncy tumor growths (volatile gelatin) and gain the trust of most slimes (royal gel). This makes gel officially the most versatile substance in terraria.
@@saidcura9324 now you bring up a great point. However, there is still a lot of evidence that implies that at least some gel is edible. For example, pink gel is described as sweet, and while not true in all cases, the majority of sweet things are edible. Additionally, while they can also be seen as just simple desserts, the queen and king slime pet drops show what seems to be a slimy dessert. This implies that most to all gel is edible in some capacity
The thing about the fairies being humanoid is accurate to the ones it's based on, from the Zelda series. The fairies appear as little blue orbs but it's shown in some of the games that they are actually human-like underneath, they just glow so bright that they appear as little balls of light.
Murasama is not actually just a syllable swap, it's actually a reference to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Its name is pulled from a sword of the same name wielded by the character Jetstream Sam within the game. The weapon tooltip also states that it's "ID and power level locked" which prevents its use before defeating Yharon, or can be used at any time if you name your character after Jetstream Sam. The devs are huge MGR:R nerds, so there's loads of references to the game within Calamity.
There is a definite error at 51:43 where the NPCs Reaper, Solar pillar, destroyer and wraith don't appear when mentioning them like all the other NPCs do. However on the next piece of information talking about the different ghouls, these NPCs suddenly appear covering the images of the ghouls. Honestly I have no idea how this error wasn't caught and no one seems to be talking about it.
Yeh, when I made the video they were properly lined up, but I forgot to drag the layers over when I deleted the intro for the compilation. Someone mentioned it previous to you but yeah. Unfortunately I cannot rectify it
I prefer the theory that actually Terraria takes place on some long land strip that is far larger in the dimension you don't see, which would allow multiple worlds to exist on the same strip.
or, hear me out. someone else's terraria world is happening right in the background of yours, and someone else's in their background, and so on and so forth
Fun fact: The Dye Trader initially would move in if you had a dye resource (like a yellow marigold or orange bloodroot), then it was changed to if you had a rare plant (Which appeared in pre-hardmode at the time), and now she moves in if you have a certain amount of NPCs.
Strange plants still appear in pre-hardmode and the requirements for the dye trader are having a dye item or strange plant and at least 4 other town npcs. The requiremenst for the dye trader used to be having a dye item or a strange plant and defeat any major pre-hardmode boss instead of having at least 4 town npcs.
@@mathgeek008 the wiki doesn't say that they don't grow in pre-hardmode, the option to trade strange plants for dyes with the dye trader requires hardmode though edit: i guess i didn't pay too much attention to the wiki, it does say they only spawn in hardmode. i never noticed that they didnt spawn per-hardmode
@@strych1550 it was changed at one point, it's a very noticable change unfortunately. I remember having so many different cool dyes to use, nowadays I'm lucky if I get a couple of bottles since they feel much less common
35:53 Cherry Blossoms / Sakura Trees are sterile, meaning they do not produce fruit, and by extension, Cherries. This means that this is most likely intentional anyway.
Hearing all the Stardew Valley music in the background really makes me wish there was something similar for it too. Regardless, what an excellent series, I can't wait for more (if there is)!
Here’s something weird On both terraria wikis, all event bosses are referred to as mini bosses, except betsy, called a boss. Betsy is also the only miniboss to drop a treasure bag, which means that betsy *is* in fact a main boss.
20:56 the radar is likely a reference to how radars are used in battleships to detect other boats, same thing for the sprite because it looks like a radar that would be seen in movies with that kind of thing
“The banners these skeletons spawn by show a sword thing and a weird cross thing which do not resemble any ww2 insignia” 🤔 that cross thing sure looks like the famous unfinished window used by that failed Austrian Painter
15:53 the fg42 was not a sniper rifle, it was a light machine gun designed to be used with german paratroopers in ww2, hence the name “paratrooper rifle”
Normally I play Rimworld, but someone recommended Terraria to me on my channel. Your video was fun to watch, I might actually try it out myself. Got a like from me my friend 🙂👍
16:16 They can't put a swastika on a game, this game is about killing bunnies, giant body parts, and you kill a cult and......oh I guess they can put a swastika
4:11 As of the update that added shimmer, you can make the tinkerer and mechanic the same species by pouring shimmer on them, yes I know this video was made before the update
I love how Terrasteel says the achievement for destroying the pillars's name is inaccurate because you're destroying something based on the moon, as if 2 of the 4 pillars aren't directly related to stars.
The Terraria price in Argentina is, infact, due to hyperinflation. A regular US dollar costs 250~ ARS pesos. This has been said probably many times before and I am here to say it again.
The Murasama is not originally from calamity but from metal gear rising: revengeance wielded by Brazilian samurai: Samuel Rodriguez or jetstream Sam, which is why in you can use it before Yharon if you name your character that.
uhhh... 3:00 "falling stars" are comets, comets are usually much smaller than meteors. half the time that a comet enters our atmosphere it burns almost entirely away (itd be even smaller than a terraria fallen star irl)
56:54 Ik this isn't on the original part 9 video, but I always thought it was supposed to be a magic blast of some kind. Sorta like a fireball, or some other arcane projectile magic. Extra bit: I've been watching your content for quite a while now, and only just realized I wasn't subbed. Also, you deserve wayy more attention for this level of content.
I'd like to point out that stingers are offensive body parts that inject a toxic fluid into the target's body; therefore, they aren't poisonous, they're venomous.
Terrasteel out here trying to make sense of solar eclipses and gravity on a world where eldritch moon deities send their sentient hand-eyes to kill you, and the angler is alive. +Respect for my man
"terraria's world is not 2d because coins can spin" and, yknow, characters can walk one leg behind the other, not everything is on the block layer, there's stuff in the background which implies a foreground, npcs can walk past one another, etc.
16:39 I haven't watched the series yet, so I'll probably look dumb, but the tax collector has dialog that states that he didn't want to have the princess pay taxes, but the princess herself insisted on doing so.
26:23 the old dart rifle was textured to resemble a tranquilizer gun used on animals, while the new dart rifle resembles a (non lethal?) vector for some reason, not commonly associated with a dart weapon of any kind.
15:59 It's probably pronounced: FAL-shirm-YAH-ger-guh-vuhr 42 Also, I know part 5 is probably old, but the Murasama is based on Jetstream Sam's sword from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance (Or MGRR if that's too long)
20:38 The Bezoar was historically thought to be a universal cure for all poisons, as well as neutralizing poisons before ingestion if it sat in the glass that was poisoned as it was drank. This was later disproved in 1567 A.D. by Ambroise Paré but is true in both the Terraria and Harry Potter universes.
As someone who only recently switched from the 3ds, so many of these things I was just like “WAIT… THEY CHANGED THAT????” So many of the name changes threw me off, I was like “ok, I need a fiery great sword to make my nights edge… what the hell is the volcano?” I could barely even recognize half the items, like… it’s pretty much a different game… I’m used to killing dragon hornets, arch wyvern, arch demons with my ghost wings, defeating ocram and time traveling to the thanksgiving event to kill the boss and get a bunch of cornucopias, being able to spam kill the Easter boss with lava after trapping it so it would multiply, and now the game doesn’t stop suddenly after golem, how it took three hours to make new worlds and that 6/10 of them had ginormous holes in the jungle that led straight to hell, how those holes always had a single chest with a pet slime or a slime staff in it, usually floating on two blocks underneath the lizard temple… it’s strange
40:44 Yeah, i can sadly confirm it is because of that. Still, i got to buy and enjoy it, so i really can't complain that much. The low price was a blessing.
