A B O U T D E V I D A L Y Y O G A
Hi, I'm Devi. Twenty years ago I was an addict with depression, anxiety and severe body pain. I was drawn to yoga for healing and recovery, but I kept finding myself in classes that increased my stress and insecurity with dogmatic alignment rules meant for people with very different bodies than mine. ​
​I almost quit until I discovered the intuitive practice of Yin Yoga. With Yin, I learned to follow my instincts to connect with a deep well of inner resources for healing and recovery. Now almost 50, I’m devoted to sharing this approach to help others.
In 2003, soon after I began teaching yoga, I founded Tucson Yoga Studio and directed a staff of 10 teachers with a full schedule of Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga classes. We served over 20,000 students a year and we were Tucson's favorite yoga studio for many years.
I sold Tucson Yoga in 2012 and relocated to the San Francisco Bay area where I entered into extensive studies with Paul Grilley. I joined MC Yogi and Amanda Giacomini at Point Reyes Yoga as studio manager and director of the studio’s Yin Yoga Teacher Training program. I’ve now trained and certified over 200 yin yoga teachers since 2015.
Paul Grilley’s influence runs deep in my teachings. I was among the first Yin Yoga teachers that he certified at the 500 hour level in 2013, and I carry forth his life-changing approach to yoga alignment. I’m also greatly inspired by my meditation instructor Lorin Roche who is the author and translator of the Radiance Sutras.
After 20 years of teaching in-person and managing yoga studios, I'm now delighted to be doing all my teaching online, where I've been able to share yin and yang yoga with a global community of students and friends.
When not doing yoga you'll find me dancing, hiking and swimming naked near my home in Southern California.

Nice mix of yin yang and also qigong in one class. I like reaching dragonfly it is better for my knees in half butterfly. And hole of the class is one meditation. Thx ❤😊❤.

Despite knowledge of how the algorithm works, I feel the flow that pops up on my homepage is there because it is meant for me in that moment. I've been following it most days when I settle down to do my practice. Typically, they're 10-20 minutes. Tonight, this was exactly what I needed, and I feel amazing. I had a very stressful day and now I feel like I'll rest easier. Thank you ❤❤

Thank you! So far I have done 3 of the yin yogas you have and u are awesome! I love that u don’t do a position to long! I get more poses but get to hold long enough to get better and more out of them! I am not exactly a beginner to the concept of doing yoga but I have never been passed the beginner videos lol. But I love how I feel after I get a nice stretch. I workout and lift weights and jog and I do Pilates so I don’t need to much balance poses. But I need flexibility and mobility and relaxation and stretching and lengthening! And I need to rejuvenate because I am 54 and I can feel stiffness after my workouts in the joints. So I need these so much! I am glad I found u! These are perfect! You moved the body and stretch it! Thank you! I feel so much better. Do you have videos on some also geared to neck and shoulders and upper back and chest? I found one and did that and loved it. My PT says my chest is tight and I have an impingement in my shoulder and that she thinks this is why I am having neck and shoulder pain. It feels to me like I feel it in my front shoulder and the back scapula and the side neck. If I tilt my head to the right the neck will hurt deep into the right area too. Very strange. But I am working on it. And hope these practices will help me loosen all body parts! Thank you again!

Life got in the way, missed some of my regular morning yin sessions. Decided to try this as first day back on mat and thoroughly enjoyed the pace, inclusion of the Qi Gong and the entire practice being low to the mat. :) Did a few mods but really looking forward to revisiting this and striving toward more intermediate poses.
