For my first game, I tried to make a small RPG. I spent ages trying to figure out how to get my character to move properly, how to manage items, inventories and so on, only to realise that the project was a horrible idea. I wish I had started with the Unity learn projects. You get to make something super early on and it doesn't require you to be a programmer to make the games. Was fun seeing Jake get into making games. It feels like he enjoyed it too!
my first attempt was an open world VR RPG with motion gesture spells... i scrapped it after a week. my my third project was the first one that was actually manageable.
LMAO THAT WAS A FUN VIDEO. However, I'd like to take a small moment to remind you that the swirlypop disrespect was crazy. i was shook to my core when I heard you call my beloved swirlypop a "licker". no amount of stress in my life could've brought me down to this point where I am so shook, I forgot that I was using Unreal and then immediately signed up for the UNITY student plan from clicking on the link in the pinned comment. /s
lol what a small world, your friend Jake I guess now owns the cards & collectibles store my dad and guy by the name of Mike started many years ago. Great video you guys did a really good job, with only having four days. I use to try and make games on unity but always hit road blocks that I couldn’t figure out so now I make games on Roblox Studios.
Devices won't be able to support Mana Valley and porting it will require a lot of changes. Unfortunately as a solo dev it's too much work to tackle alone. If the game does well on PC porting to other platforms might become a possibility. In what way do you think mobile gaming is underrated?
@@AIAdevHave you really seen the capabilities of android devices' hardware? Today, their usual RAM is 8GB, and play store and APP store are FULL of clickbait and only ads games, or worse, full of microtransactions and pay-to-win games. But, some games still are great and still show how great the market was on 2010 and how it should be. If a game is great, i wouldn't care if it's 10dollars or less. I still would play the price if it's still worth And for example, both Fortnite, Minecraft genshin impact, honkai star rail and zzz are on mobile and the majority also have controller support Thanks for read and answer my comment 😊
Yep! I work on it basically every day. Unfortunately a lot of game development doesn’t make for interesting videos, which is why you haven’t seen a devlog from me on Mana Valley in a bit. But one is coming
