I dragged this ONE OWNER 1967 Mercury Commuter Wagon out of a garage yesterday, and I've been waking it from its looong slumber. The engine cranks now. Also, the lights work, the blower fan spins, and the 8-track plays!!! Let's do this! Edited by VideoGuru:videoguru.page.link/Best

Yellow top coil is most likely original. I had to replace mine recently on my 50,000 mile 68 LTD. Also I use the canned 40:1 fuel they sell at parts stores rather than spray start. It fills the bowl and lube the valves rather than washing things down
@mohawkgarage
@mohawkgarage Месяц назад
@tomrowe7534 Good idea with the fuel. When the car didn't fire up immediately, I stopped with the spray. I think the coil may still be good. I'll be keeping all of the original parts either way. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I just wanted to make a comment about the gumball machine that you found in Kentucky that still has the toys in it. I worked for the man who invented the acorn bubble gum machine back in the 1920's and I would ride around with him restocking them in different states and I definitely remember Kentucky having to drive across creeks to get to the stores .His name was Lee Smith and he passed away around 1983. So if the toys are still in it that we would get out of his closed down airport in Charlotte which he used for the business then you definitely have some vintage gum ball machine toys. Thanks for the memories 😊

@@mohawkgarageYou got that right! I know you're happy to have that wagon. A '67 Merc wagon is nothing to sneeze at! You don't see 'em everyday. When I was a kid, I had a Matchbox toy of a '67 ('68?) Mercury wagon. It was green! And yes, it was a Commuter! The full-size Mercury wagon came in Commuter and Colony Park guises for '67, both in either six-passenger or nine-passenger forms. Production figures were as follows: Commuter 6-passenger : 3,447 Commuter 9-passenger : 4,451 Colony Park 6-passenger : 5,775 Colony Park 9-passenger : 12,915 (Source : _Encyclopedia of American Cars, 1930-1996,_ 1996 edition) Enjoy your Mercury! Love the wagon! When i was a kid my parents bought a 67 colony park, was really nice. Just noticing in your video of the engine, you better replace that rubber fuel line that goes between the metal fuel supply line and the carburetor. Famous on fords for rotting and spraying fuel all over the engine compartment and turning you beautiful wagon into a crispy critter!
