Tulips, roses and berries… in this episode, we say goodbye to the spring flowers but hello to exciting roses and berries in the garden.
We dug up a portion of the backyard for a veggie garden… the roses at the garden centre though were irresistible. In search for that rose in my wish list, I came across new and alluring varieties. Then there were berries. I thought it would be delightful to have some growing in the garden, so I did not pass the chance when I saw them at the store.
Buying plants and collecting different varieties was super exciting! Getting the garden ready and planting them is another story. Anticipating blooms and fruits growing soon in my own little garden is quite enjoyable in itself, it makes all the trouble and effort much worth it.

It’s late spring… summer is hurrying to arrive so it seems. The weather has been hot these days. Spring is so delightful with the tulips, daffodils and alliums blooming. There were colourful hyacinths as well. Cheer and beauty came early even before the snow melted completely.
The roses have a lovely scent and ever so romantic blooms. Bright sun and warm days makes the flowers remarkable. And so summer must come without delay. Though we say goodbye to the final spring blooms in the garden - the Angelique tulips - we look forward to the beginning of rose blooms.
New rose bushes has been added to the garden this year. I was in a hunt for cocktail roses ever since I met them last year at a friend’s garden. She was so in love with these roses that she purchased three bushes for her garden. I was also smitten - love at first sight. At the closing of winter, I was at the edge of my seat constantly awaiting the garden centres to open. Magnolias and cocktail roses were on my list. In the search, I came across many other delightfully beautiful, some so dramatic, varieties of roses. In the end, 27 new roses will make a mini rose garden in our home garden this year. I hope that you enjoy these videos and stay tuned for a parade of lovely Rose blooms.
Have a delightful day!
❤️, Maiah
