To be honest, I went to the same middle school with Xavier Townsend in 7th grade. Not even kidding. I kinda forgot about him until I end up seeing him on TV like there's no way he made it so far. I'm proud to see how well he's doing in football. Also wish this man the best in college too!
Every county had that one player that would kill you on both sides of the ball. Give you 350 yds rushing, 4 touchdowns, a pick 6, kickoff return and a fumble recovery all in the same game

Lmfao they go based off mechanics and accuracy and following national high school football he has shown he is the best well balanced QB you may not like it for some reason I hope it’s nothing other then his skills. When people make comments like this it always kills me. Comments like this are asinine to put it as politely as possible. To say that a kid who is in HIGH SCHOOL is a future Hall of Famer is beyond a preposterous claim to make even if you're talking about the NCAA College Football HOF. He's playing the sport with the shortest average span of a career out of all the major sports. The things that have to fall into place and and the coaching, the players that he is surrounded with, his own decision making skills on AND off the field along with the type of character and morals and sense of self responsibility with work ethic along with being in the right environment making it the right fit along with not having any major injuries in a sport where injuries are as common as common can be along with a thousand other things that has to go in his favor is what it's gonna take for a HOF career. So to say that he's a future HOFmer is a claim where the odds of it happening are probably worse than you winning the Powerball lottery. Plus being a team sport being super talented can only take one so far. You think Emmitt Smith would have had the career he had if he didn't have that incredibly athletic and monstrous 300LB plus offensive line just to name one example?? There's no way in hell if he was on a team with say 29th ranked O-line in the league at the time. They made holes that you could drive a U-Haul through for him. Of course he was an incredibly skilled and driven player as well but like I said that wouldn't have had the same results on the 29th ranked O-line compared to the number one ranked. That O-line played a HUGE part in the making of his HOF career. So this kid will need that along with the stars and planets lining up in so many other ways as well to make him have a HOF career as well. Nobody should EVER say that a kid in high school is destined to have a HOF career. It's not only asinine like I said but things like that being said and if they are said by enough people where it makes its way back to the young man being the topic of discussion just adds unfair and unrealistic and unnecessary pressure on a young person that already has enough pressure to not only live up to the on field hype but the pressure to succeed in the classroom and the pressure to think smart and make the right decisions and say the right things off the field in this world where they are always under a microscope and where everyone has a camera and capabilities to make a video on their phone.
He’s good, yes. Underrated, yes. But hall of famer? This was probably the best game he had last year. He’ll probably be a good player if he stays healthy. I worry about his size when he gets to the collegiate level.
@@pierremckinney122 Maybe. I know when I was a freshman varsity had a great o-line and our freshman RB averaged 200 yards a game at 7yrds a carry. Fast forward 3 years we had a terrible o-line and he was a better player but averaged 4.3 yards a carry and 65 a game. He never got a college scholarship because he wasn’t as good as everyone thought. This young man is fast but I haven’t seen him run through contact like he will have to on the next level. It doesn’t mean he can’t but…
Considering that he maybe had 1 second of pocket time, he's going to be awesome in college...props to that Berkeley team. Alot of d1 talent on that team.
Wow Xavier Townsend is insane. I kinda feel bad for the Berkeley QB the announcers gave him no recognition compared to Arch. They go crazy when arch even completes a screen pass

i dont think you understand how talented and football iq arch has. they dont just rank you # 2 because of family. if that was the case every kid of a former pro would be over ranked. but they arent
Newman did a good job to pull 24 points out of that disaster. You'd think the coach there would be better if the Mannings trust him. Guy just let's his "5-star" QB get pummeled for the whole game. No adjustment to get extra help for blocking... They better help that kid. If he's got the kind of potential everyone talks about, we're never going to see it if this is how his team plays against top-tier competition.
I.ll bet u there's about four or five Qbs that are better than him in hs but because of his name and the kinda media nowadays he's number one I wish they would wait first before giving this kid that kinda ranking he's sees the news and Im sure along with his family he handles the pressure ok
@@tribeofJudah251 no, look at his season stats and film even against lesser teams. Never seen a 5 star not be able to throw for 3000 yards and 30 touchdowns IN HIGH SCHOOL. My former QBs from my high school went to UT , TCU , and Texas A&M and all of them were 4 stars and they all threw for around 3500 yards and had around 35+ all purpose TDs and went to camps. He’s a 5 star and can’t even play good against decent comp😭😭😭

From the Looks of it Mr.Manninng isn't a 5star qb. The school has played 7 games and lost 2 of them. I think his hype is because of his Family. Number 3 is the TRUTH.

Prime example, Townsend had 5td and 350yds in this very game. Arch, like his uncle Eli is overrated and will have a lengthy NFL career simply because of his name
@@jamesboulware4163 What I said is nothing like saying Lamar isn't a QB. I'm saying RB is the worst position to play because its the most brutal with the shortest avg playing career. They get abused in college with a lot of carries, and by the time they make it into the NFL, teams squeeze the final 2-3 years on their shitty rookie contract before being dumped. Very very few get that second generational wealth contract. I get that some players are only skilled for RB and they should continue to pursue that, but if he is skilled at DB, he should switch to that for his career.
Absolutely true. In the NFL, Rbs are a dime a dozen. They get hurt at a higher rate. They get dumped at a higher rate. But if you develop as a shutdown corner you are gold. Even really good college CBs can count on having a decent chance at being drafted and having a productive NFL career. I wonder if anyone is advising Townsend? He could commit as a CB and maybe be used under center in a wild cat formation. Plus he could run back kicks and punts as a CB. But who knows he could end up being the next Christian McCaffery. But even CM gets hurt a lot. And look at Zeke's situation in Dallas. Everyone screaming for Tony Pollard to replace him as the main RB. So much for the greatness of Zeke Elliot.

I'm 49 years of age I saw a lot of running backs in my life .but this kid X is special he reminds me of Marshall Fulk the rams and colts running back ..hands down

Arch should run track for a couple years to work his form and stride. He'd be literally unstoppable if he becomes more elusive with a high level of body control

I tell ya'll one thing.... If Berkeley had a decent quarterback with a stronger arm, this game would've been really ugly! That interception Newman had in the first quarter was because of the lack of arm strength of Berkeley's quarterback under throwing the deep ball to Xavier, that he clearly had to comeback to catch that allowed the corner to catch up and pull the ball from him! And another deep ball that was underthrown to Xavier in the third quarter too!
@@silkyslim5420 John Curtis is in River Ridge not Belle Chasse, Curtis is a 2A size school who played 4A ball until they dropped them to 3A for a few years, and then into the independent Catholic League. They Played Newman 6 times and outscored them like 265-28 overall.
It is a big deal because everyone knows the Mannings were never mobile quarterbacks. Has nothing to do with race. Stop making everything about race. You're as bad as the mainstream media.
These announcers need to calm down on how much they hype up A. Manning... He's still a kid... With any failure he has they make it ten times worse... But that Townsend Kid is a True Athlete... I can see bigger Universities than Iowa State in his future..!
I don't like the fact a small school player get more respect than the bigger school players. Those private and small schools have 6,7,8,9th graders on the team.
Arch manning was really not impressive to me, in this game. The future will tell but as for this showing I'm not impressed,the other kid really stole the show,in every aspect,his performance dominated and the QB on the other team out played Manning.
The running back getting that INT is...too much. And returning kicks as well. No wonder he had 351 yards. He's playing all three phases of the game and nearly had that 50 yard reception too.
The only question I have is why are these two teams separated by two states are playing each other and they’re in high school. That’s a little ridiculous.
Change 5 ⭐ to maybe 3 ⭐ and you might get close and people say he doesn't have any time in the pocket well watch other high school games those QB have about the same time he's ranked cause of name
Anyone could run through those wide holes that line was opening up. Every play by Xavier Townsend had a gaping hole made by the offensive line. He is fast though give ‘‘em that.
They're not haters, they're realists. If you ignore the name and just watch his play then you'd have the same opinion. The opposing QB is playing way better. No way arch is a 5 star recruit If his name wasn't manning.

IDK what you guys are seeing, but his ball placement and feel for the game is very good for a junior. I believe next year he will definitely look like a 5 star qb.
I hate when we treat athletes like thoroughbreds. Eli was a college QB but not great. Peyton was way better in my opinion. And Eli was ranked higher than Peyton coming out of high school. And this young man is far behind both where the other two were at the same time in their career.
Newman is not a great team either. Ranked #9 in 2A which is the second lowest division in the state. The competition in district is not exactly top notch.
I no one thing Iowa state got a future NFL player, Townsend will play on Sundays. Berkeley preps QB looks just as good as Manning to me. I'm so glad we got Nico!!! GBO
Newman needs to spend this offseason, buying 3 lineman 6'4 300+, 2- 5 star RBs, 3 WRs, and a host of defensive studs, so Arch can really get his 5 star on.
That kid Townsend is a DAWG‼️He reminds me a lot of my guy Adrian Peterson. Once he gets the rock he is aggressively trying to get downhill. My chopping of the feet or studded steps before hitting the hole like a Reggie Bush. This kid might end up being a top 5 NFL draft pick if he is molded by the right coaches‼️
Townsend needs to go to Bama if he wants to have a great career and have a chance to be on a National Championship team. That’s not going to happen in Iowa. Just a fact.
Iowa state is a division 1 team on one of the premier football conferences in the country (Big 12). If he continues to play the way he did in this game he will be just fine.
