I just came across this series some time last week and I finally caught up with all the videos on 1 Samuel a couple hours ago, and now I'm watching this. Praise God for you, Pastor Skip! This series along with the other book studies in this channel all add fire to my passion for God's Word every time.

💓Pastor Skip! The state of Israel has been a miracle in the making from the beginning. Thank you for teaching about the Biblical view of war and Jesus admonition to believers to turn the other cheek Even as followers of Jesus we are to defend and protect our families from aggressors. It has to do with context.

Thanks Pastor Skip - it would be interesting to know what happened to old Nahash after his army was defeated by Saul's army at Jabesh. Perhaps Saul took him up on his own idea and gouged out his right eye - the brutal thug! These battles must have been horrendously bloody! Like you said, we live in a lost world and although the externals have changed, human nature hasn`t changed one iota in these thousands of years. I'm one of the sinners too and God has "redeemed my life from the pit." The only hope for this world is the return of Christ. God bless.
My mother has undiagnosed schizophrenia and my brother and I take care of her. I also take care of my grandmother so I can’t work and make any money because I don’t have time. My mother refuses to get help and we could get evicted soon because of her screaming. We need another miracle, because God has already given us so many. Please pray for us! I love you! ☺️
Saul started well but didn't end well. You hv an excellent message along those lines, living well, ending well. Which brings me to ask, will Saul be in the resurrection after having rejected the Creator? Do you adhere to the teaching/doctrine of 'once saved always saved?'
A thought on “turning the other cheek. In many cultures, including the ancient Middle East, using a backhand slap on someone's right cheek was seen as a significant insult. It wasn't just the physical action but also the symbolic meaning behind it that conveyed disrespect or humiliation. In the culture of the times, maybe Jesus wasn’t talking about physical altercations, but when somebody insults you - just take it and even allow for more insults without responding in kind - this avoiding escalation.
I felt that there was a real comparison to what was happening back then and two today. There were many applications I could make to my own life. History is very important. Do not let other things distract us from the most important thing, which is doing God‘s will. God is in control even when kings are bad.
whenever I hear this pastor talk about Israel as a country and him clearly making Israel to be the victims my spirit erupts, but his word on the word of God is so enlightening but he must remain silent when speaking on Israel if he cannot outwardly condemn their genocide on the Palestinians
