Have you ever tried to mount a towel rod to only have 1 or no studs to attach to. Anchors give way over time so I designed a 1 stud center supported towel shelf system for my bathroom. Free cut sheet at the end of the video.

Thanks for walking through the process of identifying the need and how you not only overcame the constraints but used them to come up with a design that was both functional and attractive. Creativity is equally as important as skill for woodworking. I see so many people complaining about builds where there are no plans provided, when in reality everyone's needs are unique. You could have been searched for hours to find something that worked for your requirement. I'm sure that in time people will be here asking what they should do because their stud isn't in the same place as yours.

Thanks! Very well said! Yea I always like to walk through my thought process just in case that might help someone with some perspectives on figuring out their own custom needs👍

This video is a perfect example for why you build it yourself instead of buying. When you build it you can make it any size and shape you want or need. I think it looks great.

Love, love, LOVE the graphic at the end of the video that functions as a cut list. Also, major kudos on listing the length of the wood screws.

Nicely done! One can also make those dados with a sliding miter saw, for those who only have that tool.

Leather by dragonfly for your shop apron. It’s not cheap but I promise it’s is in fact the most loved tool in my shop.

Oooo very nice! I am very tempted. If I can’t find what I like on the mass produced I think I’ll order a custom one. I try to stick to things on the channel the average person can buy (no festool here etc) but I do love a custom piece!

@@BitnerBuilt everyone can appreciate a small business especially all of us in the woodworking/maker community. We could all learn from their process. It’s incredible how custom the experience is getting your personal apron made. Mine was my birthday gift so the expense was justified. No festool etc here either.

Great project! It's given me an idea for something similar in our master bathroom. I have an air purifier/filter question. My workshop is in most of a 2-car garage, and I pretty much always have the garage doors open when I'm working out there. I have gone back & forth about having an air purifier, since it seems like a useful addition, but I'm not sure if it would be effective for that large a space with almost the whole front wall open to the outside when the doors are up. Since the space is not climate-controlled, I also have a floor (pedestal style) fan that I generally have blowing on me for cooling during warm weather. (Actually, here in Texas, warm might be an understatement. LOL) So I would like to know your opinion on the necessity or effectiveness of an air purifier or filtering unit for my setup. I do have (FINALLY!) dust collection. Basically a shop vacuum type unit for smaller hand tools (sander, etc.), and a larger unit for my miter saw & table saw (so far just those). And yes, I also do wear an RZ mask when I'm doing dusty things. I'd appreciate any input you might have. Thanks in advance. Hope you have a fabulous day! :)

Thanks! So I would always say my first answer is any more safety equipment can never be bad. But I get what you mean about with the doors being open. I guess my question would be do you have dust on things high up in your garage? The type of dust that a ceiling mounted air purifier is trying to grab is the dangerous stuff the really small particles that stay suspended in the air for a good period of time. A lot of those particles are even incredibly difficult to see.
@ST-0311
@ST-0311 4 месяца назад
Never a bad idea to put a large (24"-30") shop fan at the door blowing out the micro particles. Preferably pedestal mounted since most dust is generated at bench top level.

I also have a 2car shop, and in nice weather the doors are always open. I put in a Wen 400cfm above my sanding station. Even with fans blowing out, those filters capture a bunch of dust. Maybe because of the swirling air? With only 1.75 lungs I believe it was a great investment in my future health 😷

Why not cut all three shelves at the same time?
@BitnerBuilt

You are totally right! Perhaps some double sided sticky tape to hold them all together so there’s no slippage and clamp a piece of wood for a stop block (my stop block can’t handle a 3in deep piece)
