@@massivelymandela6766 remastered have the official servers now and ladder so it would be pointless , there's enough people for you to play even custom maps but sometimes you have to be patient is what I would say
This looks actually like how my dad would play against 7 AIs on melee back in the old days. (His favorite race is Terran of course.) He'd just turtle up with Bunkers, Siege Tanks, and Goliaths; wait for the AI to suicide all their units into the meat grinder until they ran out of mineral to build anymore, then went in and cleaned up all their bases. Good time!
I'm old school also :) I done it with all races, couple different tactics. Close with Terran, then clear 2 positions, with drops keeping the front line, or go BCs asap.. Say hi to your dad :))
@@BilenRi Hey, glad to meet a fellow old school SC player! :) Thank you for sharing. My dad and I have been playing since 98'. SC is my first ever RTS along with C&C. It is def a timeless game; I'm still playing it through the remastered version. My dad's retired now but he still played it occasionally + a bit of SC2; he's still could not beat the WoL campaign though. I still talked to him from time to time over Skype since he's back in Thailand and I'm still stuck in the US doing grad school. Things are getting really bad over there because of the Delta variant; I hope this pandemic will be over soon so I can go back and see him in person again.
"Brethren Protoss! We must break through this Terran's defences and destroy his base's economy!" "We stand ready, Executor! How shall we accomplish this?" "Courageously march in a single-file directly at the three bunkers behind the Supply Depots and Barracks without Dragoon support!"
@@wowditto do you want to know how a Hard Protoss and Zerg plays? Corsairs and Queens, that's it. Defiler is unnecessary, but Plague and Swarm can help destroying faster.
I wonder what somebody would think hearing that without any context, and watching you go about your day listening to it would baffle some people hahaha.
I love the blue AI which seemed to give up once you started repairing the depot at the bottom right of your base "We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas"
My request: 1) Redo the BC vs Carrier battle, no Yamato 2) Have a fully upgraded Ultralisk go against SCV's, feed them to the Ultralisk in single-file (how many SCVs to take down an Ultra) 3) Another epic 3-way battle like the last time
Yah the thing about Starcraft 1 maps is that they often didn’t have many resource bases and the AI wasn’t very good at effectively countering a walled off defensive line. This meant that the AI could often be beat in a war of attrition
That was always my go-to strategy back in the old RTS days. Red Alert 1 and 2 and StarCraft. Turtle up and let them pound away on my defenses until they had nothing left or I had an overwhelming army. When StarCraft 2 came out, I tried it and no matter how much defense I built, there was always a way to counter it. Makes it impossible for sissies like me to hide behind turrets, bunkers, and siege tanks.
In Map Editor, they made available Custom AIs for custom maps, those did a better job vs players. Made better use of their units, especially casters, and applied better tactics. Some AIs were cheating as well, some not. Still no match for humans, but a visible improvement. I heard later on even better AIs were presented by modders, but those I never saw myself.
You can actually see on the score screen that Stu lost 10 buildings but only 2 of them were due to enemy fire, meaning the siege tanks annihilated 8 buildings
People back in 2000 would play such 1v7 very differently, and I give a decent chance that some may not even realise what a wall is. Me would need a lot of courage to play like this, especially when expansion is difficult to come by. I just hate those campaign missions where expansions has to be dropped and difficult to get, or no expansion at all.
If you want an easier way to beat 1v7, try Big Game Hunters! You won't run out of resources and the enemies don't really know how to use the increased resources (because they were designed for "normal mineral" type maps). Island maps and going for Battlecruisers/Carriers/Guardians is also fairly easy. The enemies do use drops but they're not very good at it.
3:23 I'm sitting here eating food and once the enemy Marine started shooting I flinched to grab the mouse to find out where it was coming from so I could counter it...but it's just a video XD
I'm always excited to see new videos from this channel. I've been playing these games for years, but the strats used here are always interesting. Thanks for producing!
@@ThyPandora R/woosh isn't to denote if a joke is smart or not, it's to point out when someone doesn't get a joke and takes it as if it were serious, which you clearly did.
Often times an Armory can be better than a supply depot at walling because it has no gaps between so it doesn't leak zlings and zlots and has higher max hp. It could have been considered when a depot is destroyed such as at 13:37. Downsides are Armory does repair slower and costs gas.
I remember doing those challenges to myself when I was 14yo; but I kinda "cheated" by sending SCV to the enemy bases, attacking something once and then roam around the map towards the next enemy AI's base to attack and lure. That way I remember I delayed their farming and had marines going for their empty bases while their drones were chasing me :D good game, loved that! Havent watched a single video nor played the game for 20 years now lol
Reminded me of the time I watched my Uncle, take on 7 comps as T. When I asked him, how hard is it. He simply said, its like a 2V1 scenerio you just gotta know the timming.
Aaa yes ..the classic 1 vs 7 AI allied against you .. I remember doing this on big game hunters. Turtle up with depos bunkers and tanks plus turrets around your base then make tons of battlecruisers and 2 or 3 detectors to go with them and ruin everything in your way. Fun times.
Sick. Gotta say though... If there was a line of code in there somewhere that said something like "if player has x amount of tanks build a bunch of aerial sh!t" that would make for a pretty cool fight.
I play against AI with my son (13yo) and my father (64yo) at least 3 times per week. I have 40yo. Starcraft is nice Brazil is nice thank you people! :D
Would it be worth sacrificing a couple of tanks to get +1 marine attack and range early on? Seems there were more than enough tanks by the end. Maybe even science facility for a vessel?
Me at the beginning: "1v7? Eeeasy, just do a free-for-all." Me a few minutes in: "Wait a minute..." Me now: "You're insane!" Great job! I expected more flying units. Maybe I'm too used to StarCraft II now.
It's weird how little aircraft was used by computers You build pretty great anti infantry defence, that could be ruined by a very few aircraft units. Guardians would be especially deadly here.
Tbh expected it on BGH but I knew exactly what you were goin for from the start. Wish the other races had a similar block cuz I loved doing this as a kid.
