The C# Minor prelude (BWV 849) of J.S.Bach's first book of the well-tempered Clavier, one of the most saddest pieces perhaps, is also one of the more difficult to understand what Bach exactly meant with the notation of the piece in a 6/4 time signature. Suggesting from a distance a kind of double 3/2, but, when playing it, time after time pulled back to a kind of slow quarter note movement, a gentle sarabande feel, but... two times in one bar.
I share with you here my "solution" for the recording I just uploaded on RU-vid, where I started to think and 'mold' the piece from another side, one that is to me always the first: which affect (mood, emotion) is the piece sharing?
Hope this inspires you to #discover new things :-)!
