Sorry to blow it away for you, iems will damage drums when high freqs are turned up, tunning is sibilant way further, faster than low freqs. So yeah time to endulge with some "low ends".
@@someoneusa I've read somewhere that bass is a silent killer. Damaging your ears without even realizing it because it doesn't hurt unlike treble. But the damage comes from crazy speakers and I doubt an iem could replicate that.
Hey actually, that comically large case is a great container for a medium-sized DAP, like the Hiby R5 or the DX170. Oh and by the way, if you feel that the bass is too much, Moondrop's Springtips reduce a bit of bass, and you get more clarity. Finally I can put the springtips to use.
Love, love, love what 7Hz did here. A truly bass head IEM with a real size DD (12mm). Fantastic 👏👏👏 After being disappointed by FatFreq Maestro Mini, I’m sure Legato won’t let me down. I’ll definitely be ordering these beasts.
Great review Ian! I passed on the HBB Khan and Truthears Zero. The drivers on this one looks better to me. I’m not a bass head, but I want something different and this looks good. Already have the Simgot EA500 and it’s really good for the money. This one should be the opposite.
Tape up the nozzle vent on the ea500 and you get some good bass. Not the back vent, the one closest to the nozzle. You could also stick a rolled up dried out alcohol pad section into it and tape it with micro pore. Just don’t stick it in so far that you can’t take it out lol.
Really informative show, thank you! So tired of all the harman tuning stuff.I want to listen to music and have fun. Music is very personal and we all have our preference for sound which is what makes it so much fun. My set is on order 😊
That box it comes in is massive! It’s like the Tangzu boxes. I don’t carry my IEMs outside, so it’s good for storage. You can put two IEMs inside that box.
i have been wanted to get a quality basshead iem for a long time already but fatfreq's iem is too expensive for me. This came at the right timing, excited to hear them, definitely in my top wishlist
Been looking forward to a new basshead iem. I order a maestro mini before I heard about the legato. I ordered the legato once I saw your unboxing video.
The 7HZ Legato will be on demo this coming weekend on March 25th and 26th at Canjam Singapore, Booth F7 (Linsoul counter) at Pan Pacific Singapore. See you there!
Hey, if you’re responsible for that tuning, I want to congratulate you. That’s exactly what we needed. Something different, exciting!! The market is already saturated, tired of Harman target IEMs. I’ll order these not because I need it but rather, because you guys deserve the support (and cauz I love low frequencies too). Fantastic job!!!
I got one on the way! Not a bass head but I saw the graph and went 'I need to have that set to try out crazy bass level'. Can't wait for it! As comparison, bassiest IEM i have is truthear Zero, well, maybe Fiio FH5.
Can you do a video comparing the Rosefinch to the Legato? They graph pretty closely. I love the Rosefinch, until I can afford the legato, it's gonna be my bomb. Any mods or eq suggestions to get as close as possible? I know it has a good driver, at least for the price point. I hear some areas in the mids that I need to eq. Now that I have the Legato graph, I'm going to attempt to to tweak it closer. Never done it before. I'm getting a ton of clean, deep, sub-bass. Look forward to pulling as much out of that driver as I can :)I'm already addicted to that fat bass! Have missed it for too long. Also I tried about 10 different tips and they sound the best with memory foam with mesh filters. I'm going to be getting the Kbear 07s, that's what Akros likes. I'm driving it with a cheap dac dongle. I'm sure uprgrading it will make a huge difference. I like to listen to it really loud and nearly pushing full volume. I'd like to get more clarity in the mids. I've been playing with eq and have been happy with the results but I'm determined to get it as good as it'll let me.
Yes! I have the Rosefinch and it's insane :) Definitely getting my $15 worth and then some. Can't wait to get my amp in! I listened to a legato sound demo through my Harmon Onyx Studio speaker and it sounded the same to me. Not a good test but close enough. I'm sure that end driver makes a difference, just not sure it's $100 worth of extra rumble. Check out Akros review on Legato, he thinks the Rosefinch can keep up. I'd like to see Ian do a side by side as well.
BTW I downloaded a ton of Eq's from more expensive bass bombs to my pc, now just need to install on my phone. I want to see how the Rosefinch handles them. I'm listening with comply sport tips. Akros also has a mod that I may try out but right now I'm loving the stock tune. Just want to open up the mids a bit, something most of the bass bombs lack, will also sacrifice some bass impact. there's so much rumble in the subbass, I think it would do fine with a bit more mids and a teeny loss on base. I say that now...
Case: @1:10 This is a fantastic case that could protect a growing HiFi collection. There are many pocketable cases, however these larger cases are a great value-add. Cable: @2:35 This cable looks like a darker (possibly a bit smaller) version of the Dunu Hulk (or Lyra) without those nice proprietary terminations. Would be great if 2.5mm and/or 4.4mm terminations were offered. Nice cable Thanks @ian for the review(s), very much appreciated
Actually if you have noticed what 7HZ has been doing in the past few years, with the exception of Salnotes ZERO, their cases are never small or compact. As for cable, this dark brown stock cable is selected to optimise the sound signature of Legato. The wire costs more than conventional wires used in many stock cables, thus to keep the price low, we opted for 3.5mm connector only, which is the most common connection available.
@@KopiOkaya Both the case and the cable are very nice. These are great offerings that elevate product positioning alignment with consumer sentiment, perceived as premium. Very nice indeed, and a great direction for the industry as a whole (and to the benefit of the consumer). Thank you for the follow up
I already ordered one! If this is just like a Truthear Zero or the QKZ Khan in a new Shell I will return or cancel my order!! Tangzu has been exposed using a cheap Wan’er driver in their so called new Shimin Li encounter!!
I’ve just recieved them and been doing some listening. Compared to Fatfreq Maestro mini, they have less subbass. The midbass is good but not extreme. I feel that the bass is lacking some tightness and comes out a bit blurry.
hey Iann 2 questions: 1- do these work good enough on a phone or do you always need a source? 2- I have hbb khan, would eq-ing achieve a similar result or is this one a different thing ? I have been looking for something that is the maestro on a budget. Wanna know what your thoughts are and also what should be a good budget source?
Let me answer your questions since Ian is busy at Canjam Singapore right now. By the way, I am one of the co-tuners of Legato. 1. You may use the Legato directly from a phone. HOWEVER, the bass performance will suffer greatly. I strongly suggest you use a phone dongle with at least 100mW@32 ohms of output power. 2. Short answer is no. Simply because the drivers inside Khan are not meant to be boosted more the 6dB before distortion kicks in. When we tuned the Legato, we did reference the Maestro Mini and Maestro SE. Ivan of Fatfreq actually heard the Legato before we finalise the tuning. The thing is, we didn't create Legato to compete with Fatfreq. This is NEVER our intention. Thus, Legato's tuning is NOT the same as Fatfreq's.
@@KopiOkaya thanks, that's a lot helpful. I wanted something that I can boost and I like a lot of bass so I am definitely thinking about this one. The other one I am considering is FH3 but I am not sure if I can EQ it.
@@onib1174 It depends on the driver quality. Legato's 12mm alloy diaphragm driver can be boosted up to +20dB @ 105dB SPL before distortion kicks in. Not too sure about FH3.
@@KopiOkaya Hi, I bought legato yesterday and I loved it so far. However you mentioned that legato needs a DAC at least 100mW, is 7hz 71 capable to drive legato?
I’ll have to test these out with some widebores like the clarions, springtips and my various azlas. I’m assuming the Sedna lights will sound the best per usual. I haven’t tried spiral dots though. I wonder if my ikko iplanets will work on these, as I’m assuming they will be a bit heavy.
@@rhoarima5121 I am one of the co-tuners. Thus, I don't want to say yes or no... I think this is not too ethical. However, Legato is suitable for that category of music genre.
Hello I am about to buy the KAEI TAP-1 based off your review I was just wondering how can I hook this up to my phone a Samsung filp 4 and gonna be using moondrop illumination would really appreciate your help
Im kind of a newbie in iem world.i bought cca cra few months ago coz i heard it has good bass.i like heavy thumping bass. Should i get thr 7hz legato? And do i need a dac or bass amp with it? I have an android .. PS : i also have a Skullcandy crusher evo in headphones whose bass i love alot, vibrates my skull tbh Please advise
I was waiting for something more balanced in all frequencies, not a cannon of bass sounds to make my head explode... sorry 7Hz, I'll wait for the next one
There's balanced iems coming out all the time, I think it's nice that they released this, plus it makes sense with with the driver combination. Big DD handling the bass...
Günün sonunda her şey tercihle ilgili.
