I think that knotted locs have a organic natural loc knubyness as it matures and grows out. I especially liked being able to see the comparison of Tunisia's sisterlock method compared to her knotted loc method on the locs that she showed us in this video. Personally, because I have been exposed to the knottrd loc method here on RU-vid, I have been able to figure out how to fix thinner sections of my locs with the knots and those areas now, months later feel stronger. I have also maintained the roots of my locs where my hair grew away from my loc and have been able to keep the integrity of the density of my loc with no slippage thereafter. When I first knotted my roots I wasn't sure that I liked how it felt because I was used to a smoother feeling loc but, as time passed and the knots settled down, I got used to the change in the texture of the length of the loc body and now I enjoy feeling then again. I like feeling where I first knotted my roots to where I put the second and third knots in. I love to touch my hair and I have grown accustomed to the way my locs feel. Now, when I touch my hair, my hair can tell me something about the passing of time. Each loc can tell me approximately what length my locs were in times past by comparing the last knot with the first knot. Knotting locks may not be for everyone, but I'm really glad to have it as an option. I still interlock sometimes, but I like having more options to care for my locs. I like that I can fix weak areas on my own if I need to. Everyone may not like diy-ing their locs, but for those of us who do, knoting locs has helped to make loc maintenance much easier.

I’m letting my Sisterlocks grow out and plan to transition in a month or two. I a little nervous because I have a little arthritis in my hands, it’s not severe but it flares up. I’m up for the challenge

I get it. When you have SL, a knot, is like a death sentence. Taking the mental leap to knots is a whole 'nother' level of reprogramming one must do. It takes time and it's not for everyone. It is possible tho!!

Hello Tunisia!! Thank you so much for sharing your journey about knotted locs. Because you did that, and I happened to catch up on your latest video, I am now on the path to them as well. Obviously, you shared your journey for many years, but this is the one process that I absolutely am so very grateful for. II have been tender-headed all my life which tells you how reties were for me. I would suffer about two days routinely with pain and soreness and I’m so excited that I don’t have to go through that again. I’m also ecstatic that the control of my hair is back in my hands and I don’t have to rely on another person. Well locticians/hairdresser can do nicrlocs reties in 3/hrs I've always heard but I am indeed a hair person, have done my own hair since about 12 and I started and maintain my own microlocs for the past 2 years and I do my hair over 2 days. I have about 335 locs and I've only done my hair in a day, morning to night ONCE. Won't say it's impossible but maybe a stretch. My sister's micrlocs do take 3/4hrs with interlocking.
